Wow I thought some of the big clubs were taking in massive amounts from merchandise etc? Did Man U sell like half of all jerseys sold worldwide?
I did a uni module on the business of the football (soccer) industry and you'd really be surprised at the ones which make money and don't. Also quite often included in those losses are large dividends to the shareholders.
Man U are in debt too. From memory, the only time they've made a profit recently is a few years ago when they won the champions league, premier league and some silly cup comp, and that profit was only 30mill. They may have even sold Ronaldo at the ne of that season to make that profit too. Not sure. Clubs like Newcastle may make a small profit as they spend very little and in the last few years have made a lot of money from selling players. Out of all the big clubs, Arsenal may do the best financially, as they keep a lower wage bill than the rest and Wegner is reluctant to spend big on players. Plus, they get great revenue from their stadium.
You used to go to jail for lying in court and to the crime commission didn't you? How the **** John Elias got off I do not know.
hes a ****ing grub that bloke.. nothing more than a wannabe gangster and parasite on the game.. :verysad
i see him just about every time i am at the Sackville in Balmain... he doesnt leave the TAB area for anything but to **** and get another beer - and doesnt leave until the WA Greyhounds are finished which is always late. I have seen him win $20,000 on a single race one night and he barely smiled.
