Floyd is fighting Robert, Robert is fighting the mystique that is Floyd. Wasn't his first twitter respone 43-1 or something. Like most people, it depends on Floyd's physical attributes. I want to see how he looks in training. The first four rounds against Cotto were a whitewash. Can he keep up that same pace all 12 rounds? I don't think he can dance around the ring like he did Chico but who knows. Until proven otherwise, I don't think Floyd's 36 is the same as another boxer's 36. Lack of punishment and the retirements did help. He was doing 1300 pushups a day in jail and everyone knows about his fanatical stance on working out. Jean Pascal is just the latest to rave about Floyd's training. Floyd didn't hit the pipe like Whitaker or Hatton, wear fishnets like Oscar nor bull**** in training like Tyson and Buster Douglas. All he knows is staying fit and take slows down the hands of tme. I'm not saying his body is that of a 25 year old boxer, but I know that age is just a number here. People bringing up jail, Floyd's mind is wired differently than most other people. You see it in his mannerisms in the ring, very disciplined. He sticks to a gameplan and never reverses course. With this Showtime deal, operation get this money is in effect, nothing is going to sway him from that so he is probably training even harder than before. If Floyd looks like the Floyd we've seen in the past, the only thing to wonder is if it is KO, TKO or UD win for Floyd.
The thing about comparing Guerrero to Cotto is that Miguel is actually a lefty who fights orthodox. This makes a world of difference in the jabbing department.
I think he will do better than most fans think. Void will not even mention Martinez' name, Martinez has offered to fight Void at 154 or even 150, but Void still runs like Hell! Instead Void will fight Guerrero, a featherweight!
Guerrero will get pick apart badly for 12 rounds if his corner decides not stop the fight at some point.
Guerrero will show as much heart as Cotto, but I doubt he does better. I think Floyd is going to be on his game for this one, fighting back at 147. Ghost gains a lot of respect from me if he isn't picked apart by the 7th rd
The closer this fight gets, and the more times I watch Mayweather vs. Cotto, the better feeling I have about Guerrero. Mayweather doesn't have the footwork he once had. He had to rely on his handspeed against Cotto and you could tell by how busted up Floyd was in the middle of that fight. Guerrero isn't as big as Cotto but he has great footwork. Guerrero will be in shape and hungry. I'm not confident enough to pick against Mayweather but all I'll say is that I have a good feeling about Guerrero.
Competitive in the sense that he will make it like he's doing better than he really is. Due to his heart and determination. I expect him to win about 2 because of that.
Actually looking forward to this bout now. Do I think he will do better? I don't think so, mainly because many of the Mayweather-Cotto rounds were very competitive, even if it did result in a clear cut win for Mayweather. I do however think Guerrero will start fast and give Mayweather some problems, that is before Mayweather steps it up and takes control. Somewhat like happened against Mosley and Marquez. Mayweather gets caught with something that wakes him up per say and then stamps his authority on the bout. I don't think it will be one punch that catches Mayweather's attention, but more likely some sustained pressure and success from Guerrero that does it. I'll watch Guerrero-Berto again before this bout, and Mayweather-Cotto.
