Pacquiao was an offensive phenom. He had holes in his game and struggled against certain styles (most fighters would struggle with Juan Manuel Marquez and Erik Morales), but the timing, combination punching, feinting, underrated countering skills, laser straight lefts, and movement/angle-usage used to set up his offense were special. One of the more unique talents in boxing history, and it goes far beyond simply being athletic and physically gifted. He was no slouch defensively either. Far from great without question, but he wasn't Arce or Gatti in there.
I dont need to check nothing cuz Ive been into Boxing when you were still swimming in your daddies balls.. Dont get so defensive though, kiddo. I wasnt comparing Pacman to Mayorga man. I was only making an example. Mayorga may not be a skilled fighter but he was able to beat the technically superior opponents such as Lewis and Forrest by implementing his style better is what I was trying to say.. Pacman is not a very good counter puncher dude.
I've been saying it for a long time, the "skills" Pac uses are unconventional and also quite subtle at times. Not everything is spelled out for you like a pull counter ZOMG SKILLZ
Guys in this forum are the masters at not reading nor comprehending what they read. And also everything they post is based on their emotions (Love or Hate) about the fighter and give an objective opinion. The question is a simple one.... This content is protected This content is protected But these Mofo's are making this about their competition and who they fought...WOW:-(!!! This thread is about the fighters skill-level. And it's a pretty obvious ****ing answer. Donaire has more skill in his handwraps than Pacquiao has in his entire DNA....PERIOD!!! Donaire has far better footwoork, a far superior jab with BOTH HANDS. Donaire can fight as a orthodox fighter and a soughtpaw, His "Counter-punching" ability is immpeccable and a far better defensively than Pacquiao...EASY!!!
Manny is becoming very underrated with some posters on this site. Even though he got KO'd by JMM he was still boxing equally (some may say slightly outboxing) with him before. And JMM is an elite boxer skill-wise.
Bingo.. I mean jesus.. haha It was a very simple answer to a very simple question so I dont know why these dudes are getting so deep with it.. Nonito is far more skilled period.
Based on emotions? Are you not aware of the blatant irony? You prove your skills with higher competition. Jesus.
This is true, Pacman just got caught it happens. I still have Pacman as a top 5 p4p fighter right now. Nonito Donaire is Number 1 on my list of p4p fighters right now.
That's true and Pac is no mayorga when imposing his style on his opponent. He's has a very good overall skillset. This content is protected This content is protected
U dudes make it seem like Nonito proved his skills against nothing but bus drivers but he's done enough to prove how good he is.. As a massive underdog, he proved his " skills " against an undefeated Vic when none of the other top guys wanted to face him. Then he went up against Montiel which was supposed to be a superfight but ended early when he nearly put a dent in MOntie's head. Same thing with Nishioka who hasn't lost in years prior to facing Nonito.. I can't remember another fighter in recent times who won his supposedly big fights so quickly and easily.. NOnito is just sick with it.
Nonito is sick, there's no question. And he's more stylistically versatile. But "more skilled" includes quality, and that answer simply hasn't been made available to us yet. I'm still waiting for detractors to acknowledge the host of skills I outlined on the 2nd page.
