Agreed. While I'd love to see Wilder go on to do big things, I'm really doubtful right now. His career progression has been glacial, and whatever the reason for that may be, it doesn't bode well for his development as a fighter. He's missing out on valuable experience building fights on his quest to perpetuate his pointless knockout streak, and with every fight that passes his bad habits become more and more engrained.

If he's still not confident about stepping it up yet that's fine, but it seems Wilder and his team want to skip the middleman. It's all about title fights and top ten guys when he hasn't even taken on a decent journeyman yet. A prospect shouldn't be thrown to the sharks like that. Neither should he be pampered. Wilder's team don't seem to get that there's a vast gulf between those two extremes in which to operate.

Wilder wants to wait till the Klitschkos are in retirement! This is the plan!
When does he fight next? He could fight each weak against such bad bums? But he still needs a month break?

A bronze medallist should never ever be facing an opponent like that. What a disgrace. Also why on earth would you be showboating against someone like that, that's like showboating against your heavy bag, absolutely no point to it other than to show everyone you are a dick.

Ray Mercer started boxing when he was 28 and had already fought Lennox, Evander, Holmes, Morrison, Damiani and Bert Cooper by the time he was 27 fights in.

Is it really any worse than gold medalist Wlad fighting Tony LaRosa? And Keep in mind, Wlad was far more experienced at that point than Wilder is now. Young fighters face guys like this to build not only experience, but confidence.

Here's Larosa in all his glory vs Buster Douglas. Fast forward to the 12 minute mark.

This...much like "Cloud is perfect for Hopkins", has become the "hipster", "look how smart I am", over thought ****** opinion of the month. Wilder is no better or no worse than these Eurobum's so many love to hype. He has flaws, as do most fighters, but his attributes exceed those possessed by the vast majority of guys out there. As far as his chin...Zakman is simply a ****** leading ******s, Wilder may have a weak chin...but he doesn't know that nor does anyone else. Wilder is as "legit" as all these other clowns Helenus, Price, etc etc.
