Leonard has a lot to answer for doesn't he.I think it's only fair that he be demoted from the top 50 of all lists attempted from this very moment.

i changed my mind, his lw + montreal might leave him short on resume based top 10's, and those based more on beating bigger men, so i guess the barkley win would be around the point he makes an easy top 10 pick. even with the losses in between

Gotta be the Barkley win. Leonard W was awesome but the rematch was just weird, then he couldn't hit Benitez' arse with a bag of sand and the Hearns bout...yeah.

Needed Barkley IMO, Moore and Palomino were nice additions too.

    It's the truth.

If he didnt have Ray Leonard, he'd definitely be below Whitaker for me, who just cuts into the Top 20 even though he's probably Top 2 in terms of ability/skill.

Oh no doubt. But MAG is on that whole other spectrum where Castillo was average who only lost to Hatton and Marquez was overrated because he lost to Chris John.

Haven't really seen him around lately. Strange for him to ignore the alarms that started ringing in his dome when this thread was created.

    You go like this?

    SRL
    Marcel
    Buchanan
    Barkley
    DeJesus

Or Barkley third based on circumstances?

Leonard isn't that good that one fight should seperate how you rate two great and closely matched fighters like that. That kind of thinking implies you see Whitaker as the superior fighter.

If you think whitaker was better, rate him higher. It's called having balls and the courage of your convictions.

Besides Duran shouldn't be any kind of lock for a top ten anyway.

    MAG knows.

Yeah that probably seems right but swap Marcel for Buchanan and put Barkley third :D

But if you take away almost any fighter's best win up at the sharp end, he drops like a rock. If Robinson goes 1-1 with Gavilan he's compromised. Gans is huge for Langford. Imagine Fitz without Corbett? If Charles loses to Louis or goes 2-1 with Moore, I bet his standing is hit up pretty badly. I think this one qualifies.
