if i'm broner, i would stay at 135 and fight vasquez-burns winner or master boxer abril, become lineal in that division. i will probly get paid close to what i would get paid if i were to fight paulie anyway.

it may look like i'm avoiding the threats above me but who cares, my ****riders will still back me up.

Can't really say it is a duck because he could very likely move down afterwards. I might be wrong but aren't alot of 140 fighters busy? Garcia is fighting Judah. Khan-Diaz, Matthysse-Peterson?? Obviously not going fight Rios.

Fans are all over the place. Sometimes, fighting a guy 2 divisons below is a cowardly move. Sometimes moving up two divisons to fight a champion above your weight class is also cowardly. Go figure. I personally don't see this fight happening.

Too much talent at 140 to consider skipper over to face a scrub like Paulie.

Schaefer says a lot of things. Ill believe this when I see it.

As of right now, Broner is still a 135lbs fighter

Nice retort.... did you cut and paste from the fanboy handbook?
Got anything smart to say, or are you just in the mood to be a *****? Look at what others are saying. More in tune with what I posted. Don't worry, I'm sure intelligent guys like MVC and PrinceN will agree with you.

    Okay, let's try this...

    1. The vast majority of 140lb fighters are tied up with fighting eachother.
    2. Broner won't fight someone at the weight who doesn't hold a World title.
    3. Paulie is somewhat of a measuring stick with name value.
    4. Malignaggi beats 7/8 out of ten fighters, he loses to the better ones.*
    5. A world title at 147lbs will add to Broner's 'P4P' claims, which is a big selling point to a casual fan.
    6. It's ALL about exposure, Paulie will help with the way he can build and market a fight.

    * With the exception of a Juan Diaz robbery.

Oh, and I'm not a Broner fan boy. I think him choosing to copy Mayweather limits him.

    1. So what? I'm not saying he MUST fight at 140 immediately, I'm saying it's a mistake to skip 140 in favor of finishing business at 135 and moving to the thinning 147 division.

    2. We should let Broner say stuff like that. Unless you have your hand up his ass and do his talking for him. :D However, if what you say is true, then that's a damn shame, and just the direction boxing is going. All business, no sport. Nothing wrong with takling on top contenders. Looking to face ONLY guys with belts is just bull****. Too much politics and corruption in titile fights for that to be taken serious.

    3. Sure, can agree to that.

    4. Sorry, don't buy into made up stats. Paulie's a gatekeeper, who's best will be vs. Journeyman fighters and also-rans (or fading stars). Also another sign of the thinning 147 division.

    5. it's just a title. Maybe you call anyone with a belt a world champ with a world title, but I still see only ONE guys as a world champ. Anyone else is merely a contender.

    6. He can gain exposure in any number of ways. He's done fine so far.

you're such a **** boy. All boxing fans should encourage champion to beat all the fellow title holders and clean up a division.

I personally wouldn't want this fight. I think Paulie is kind of in boxing limbo and the possibility of the match is just being thrown out there.
