Lopez believes he is the best and always has. he knows everybody wanted the gamboa fight and now here's his chance. may now just be an opponent, but he's a fighter. good for him...

Just hope JuanMa doesn't start accusing official of being "apostadores" again.

Props to JuanMa for taking a serious risk, dude has cojones, that's for sure.

I don't either but mikey is skilled and has decent power ao anything can happen.

Apparently his hand was injured from the third round but he still kept punching so maybe he can push through it

Who is overrating him? Do you read this forum at all?

He beat a worn out war horse, who I dont expect to pick up another signature win ever again. Decent win, but it gets overrated, as does Mikey himself.

True, I just haven't seen Mikey deal with that type of speed and variance of attack. Conversely, I haven't seen Russell take a shot from a powerful sharp shooter like Garcia. Would be interesting.

But first things first. Russell has to at least pick up a belt at super featherweight. At the very least, to make the match up enticing.

I think the win was over-rated for what its worth too.... Salidos was already a done turkey from his other wars. But he wasnt expecting that much power coming from Garcia. His facial expressions on the KD's said everything - surprised. Thought he could handle the power, and prob could in his prime, but he wasnt.

Whats under-estimated is the timing and accuracy of Mikey's power punches. JM will be dropped before or by the mid rounds....

Juanma won't win unless he recovers his fundamentals. He made noticeable improvements in the Salido rematch, but I heard he's back to falling in love with his power in the last fight. I used to favor Lopez against Mikey, but Mikey proved he can up the pace and activity if needed. Good fight. Would rather see Lopez take some tune-ups first but it's a good fight.

Yes sir. Are you asking if I'm backing, or picking, or both? I don't make picks when I'm invested in a fighter, I just root. I'm going to see it live.

Well, yea, was wondering if you're picking him to win. I think it's a winnable fight. Even the Hopkins who got beat by Dawson in their rematch can probably outsmart that oaf Cloud. But who knows.

    Have a good time.

Definitely winnable. Cloud is basic. Explosive, but basic. I was hoping Bernard would try to back him up and render him ineffective and mix that in with his usual counter-punching & infighting, and that's what he asserts he'll be doing. And I agree, Hopkins was beaten by Dawson but not quite dominated, he still has his defensive faculties.

    And thanks :thumbsup

That's the thing I like about Juanma. The guy is a warrior. It might be a bad choice, but it will definitely be a good fight.

I guess not, since I don't see too many thread about him. What are people saying about him? I have just seen people say he's the best FW, which is probably true after he beat most people's number one feather.

So now Orlando is worn out? didn't you pick him to beat mikey?

Orlando not picking up another signature win isn't a surprise. who at feather would qualify as a significant win?

That is a resounding yes. Hes been worn out. Have you seen Salido fight in his prime? Did you see how he looked in the Garcia fight?

He was worn out in the 2nd Lopez fight, he just managed to make that fight his last hurrah. Not as good as he once was but as good once as he ever was type fight.

If Salido picks up a signature win from here on out I will bump this thread myself and quote myself with a good :patsch But I am telling you, Salido is and was done as a top tier fighter.

No, I called a numerous knockdown stoppage loss for Salido, exactly what it was. And it wasnt because Mikey is some p4p phenom. It was because Salido is long in the tooth.

Let me put it this way. I dont think Salido will ever beat a top 4 ranked guy ever again.
