I like Eddie Hearn. It seems like Eddie Hearn is winning the battle,but... Will he win the war?? Frank W is a survivor love him or hate him. Never write off a man that survives a bullet. Frank W has been thought alot in his time, he isn't some novice. He will bury who he needs to bury to stay afloat.
But who would sign with him now? And why should Cleverly and others stay when it's clear they can get better fights and more exposure with Hearn/Fat Mick?
I cant answer that but all I'm saying is ****** will not give in without a fight. Burns may yet still getting dragged through the courts.
Heres an idea, use one of the other numerous VVarren threads to raise this question and debate with posters already discussing the topic. Or create an entirely new thread which will garner little interest as its being discussed elsewhere already. Hmmmm Either way-another ****in VVarren thread, seriously?
Why the need for the war in the first place? I touched on this a few days ago. Its pretty obvious one promotion is trying a front and trying to start a war. The New Age Promoting Order wants to put The Old Age Promoting Order out of business. By monopolizing the sport, signing the number one draft picks, being "with the times" for the demographics, and pinching fighters from the other promotion(s). Thats what this is all about and it is going to get worse, way worse. As soon as fighters at other promotions start getting turned on by another promotions work, thats it, you might as well kiss competition goodbye. This is Sly Sports to a tee. They've done it to all the other sports, Boxing is going to be next. Mark my words. They will own the lot of it. And you wont know what you had, until its all gone. Same **** happened with the Football, Darts, Cricket, Rugby, Formula 1 and soon to be Snooker. I hate Sly Sports with a passion and anyone associated with it.
But SkySports cut boxing heavily, unless they're looking at doing a massive u-turn. It'd be pointless Sky having all these fighters, but not the TV slots to air these cards.
Hearn and Hennesy do not have the means to keep every top domestic fighter busy and well paid between them. Frank will survive by default.
They only wanted to work with Hearn so they coulsnt give him 50 dates. As his stable grows i am sure they will het more dates.
Sky should just grab all the boxing/mma/ufc and have an exclusive fight/combat sports channel. If they show classics plus every big fight here and abroad plus all the 24/7s and ultimate fighter episodes would be easy to fill They did it for formula one and that's shite.
Holy Maloney happily admitted that he was in the second division yesterday. Frank VVarren is the new Leeds United. MARCHING ON TOGETHER Sky will have the boxing back and monopolize it like everything else. It kind of HAS to, because everything else has. Sooner or later the only boxing you will be able to watch will be on Sky Sports (apart from in the early hours on CH4 for KOTV Boxing Weekly) and they will sell it like they created the sport, and are the dogs bollocks, the ONLY dogs bollocks around. I remember the days where we actually had some top level sport on terrestrial television and over the years Sky have took the lot. One. By. One. Formula 1 was always on the BBC, apart from the few years on ITV and they flogged it of behind the license payers backs, only showing half the races for the next few years. Sky created a channel and sold it like they were the originals and founders, just like everything else. And the only thing people say back to that is, "You are only being like that because you cant afford Sky Sports" :barf If it was FREE I wouldn't accept it. :good tta
