Are you trying to suggest that he did not have an ATG sneer?

I think he's great and amazing to watch. Cleaned out his division, dominated a top20 ATG, dominated top WWs coming into his division. Would of beat the breaks of Tito. Had a few banana skins where he redeemed himself

    Sounds like Hagler and Monzon

He didn`t beat a true quality fighter, in his prime and a true jr. middle. Anyone who thinks that Leonard was anywhere near his prime, doesn`t have a clue about boxing. So that `win` is nothing special. So who did he really beat that was significant ?? SRL was 34 and semi-retired. Mugabi, definitley shop worn and no ability to take a punch anymore. Brown, please, plus he lost to him first. Mullings KO`d his ass. Curry old and not a true 154, Blocker, past it and not a 154,, Meldrick, very small and past his prime as well. Rosenblatt and Boudani beat him.Jackosn a true jr middle destroyed him. His chin always put him in a position to lose because it was of poor quality. Tell me one fighter, who was a true 154 lbs that he beat in their prime ?? He was fast, good pop on his shots and good footwork, But, he was very chinny, lacked discipline at times , and didn`t always display good ring intelligence because he would try to bang with guys he shoul box,and he put his risky chin in the path of danger. So, I don`t see him as a `great` fighter. Good, but too shaky of a record to label him great...When I see people saying that his victory over Leonard as his signature victory ... So where is his career, defining victory ? Comparing 34 yr old SRL to the beats that beat `81` Hearns ??? That`s just idiotic...

Im a fan of Norris, but ill never forget the punch Jackson hit him with. That sounded like someone hitting a tennis ball with a tennis racket

And , for those who want to give Norris all time great status, then what do we do with Jackons and McCallum ? Jackson destroyed Norris, then McCallum stopped Jackson. McCallum did it to Jackons by being able to take JJ`s lethal fists and come back to stop him. These are two true 154 lb. kings. So do you guys rate Norris over these two ?

You can do this ripping up resumes with nearly any champion, Monzon, Hagler, Hopkins, you can do it with all of them.

McCallum and Jackson are both greats for me too. Especially McCallum, who has a top20 ATG case for sure.

This rule of yours doesn't apply to old times, ie Charles Burley got battered by Charles, who got battered by

How the hell do you compare Hagler`s resume with Norris ? The fighters you mentioned Hagler, Hopkins and Monzon fought and beat pretty much everyone ! Where as Norris got stopped by less thans several times. Hagler beat EVERYONE on his march to the title, and when he lost to Monroe and Watts, decisively beat them in rematches. Monzon and Hopkins,Hagler NEVER stopped by anyone much less stumble bums. Norris couldn`t even beat the top guy in his weight class ! (Jackson) Norris is far, far below thsoe all time middleweight greats. Norris has NINE losses against mediocre competition. As for the Burley comparsion ? Losing to the best 175 lb. champ Ezzard Charles is certainly no disgrace. Where as Norris lost to Simon Brown and Keith Mullings ???

I'm talking in terms of you degrading the level of competition, let's try with Hagler:

    Duran: blow up lightweight
Hearns: blown up welter, no middleweight experience
Mugabi: beat no one of note
    Leonard: blown up innactive welter
    Antofermo: average fighter

Norris easily avenged his loss to Brown

Hagler beat all his compettion in his divsison. Where as your boy, regularly lost and get KO`D as well by mediocre blown up welters. I ask you again, what is Norris signature victory ????? Lost to Mullings, lost to Brown ( but beat the all time great welter in a rematch) totally strached by Jackson. How the hell do you compare that resume with Halger`s ? Who legit only lost 0ne fight in his career ? That to the `Worm` in Philly ?? Get a grip. ? Your boy had a BAD chin against smaller fighters, seven legit losses and he ranks with Hagler ??? Good post !!

Reading comprehension isn't your strong point is it? I said you can degrade any fighters opposition, as I did to Hagler's.

And no Hagler did not quite clean his division, otherwise he would have fought McCallum, Kalambay and Graham.

Norris doesn't have a truly great win he has lots of good wins though. Leonard was 34 and past his best, but it's a very good win, arguably as good any of Monzon's who's best wins are also past prime Welterweights around 34 years of age.

Norris was a very good fighter. You could even argue great. Not an all time great though, there's a difference.

He had excellent handspeed, very good power, threw beautiful combinations, and had very good footwork when he used it.

His chin was a huge problem though. And yes, his two best wins came over two washed up greats in Leonard, and Curry.

He also feasted on a Mel Taylor who was on the downside, and had NO business above welterweight anyway.

Would he have beaten Leonard and Curry if they were in their primes? Curry, no. Leonard, HELL NO!

Still, overall Terry is definitely one of the better junior middles there's been, and if he were prime today there's nobody from 147-154 that beats him.

He would have kicked the **** outta Canelo, Lara, and Trout at 154.
