Petition to Test Square-Surface Style Boxing Gloves in the Pros

to test the style they use in the some versionf of Eastern European As & Smei-pro Leagues, but u see them most often during training

For the uninformed - they employ a slightly different boxing glove shape in these organization. Instead of the rounded, knuckle contoured surface you're used to seeing, they have small padded squares that extend on teh outside of the glove

I'm having a hard time finding a close up pictures - here is the gist of the style but 4 some reason they are showing the guys hand - there is actually padding here that covers it up:

It essentially changes the punching surface from the contour of the knuckle to a small padded square - If the square makes contact - it's considered a punch

It's actually part of why I think those particular Amateur programs are blossoming & what makes training so effective, this is a relatively new glove style & it's completely UNFORGIVIGN - what I mean is that it forces you to be FAR MORE ACCURATE with your punches - it actually dters things like Calzghe style slaps or thumbing your oppontent.

If we saw this in actual fights I think it would greatly increase the base amount of skill required - and everyone on the that 's a fan of boxing these days has been complaining about the lack of skill - well what better way than to increase the base level of said skill by forcing boxers to more carefully through boxers and making smaller targets on the gloves

i haven't heard much about other boxers advocating for thsi but I think that's because most boxers are athletes and not deep thinkers, I am not a good athlete but I am smart & I think about ways 2 make the world better & i think this is one idea

Pleae vote on this thread, I'm compiling a study to send to the major governing bodies regarding interest in testing - my thinking is that if we all contribute - make a compelling case - the WBI and other such prestigous bodies may take notice & start sanctioning these gloves

how knows - we could usherr in a new era of skill in our favorite sport - please analyze with your own analysis - thx

Naturally it's human nature & its really only natural to not accept change, but change is a natural part of life.

Lampley I'm in your area code right now dawg - I check out fights at Bialeys sometiems but they charging 20-25 these days

 

hey I already said that's not the fully exact flgove style, the part where u see the hand is covered - that Is the punching part, not the part where the palm lays flat - the top where the knuckles are is a striaght square - lookup boxing amateur & semi pro leagues in Eastern Europe - that is what they use & they're boxers are dominating & making noise in several weight classes - my theory is that it breeds more accurate punchers BUT i wnat to hear from u guys first
