Why don't fighters just throw the over hand right against the shoulder roll?

I fought this guy back in 2011. He is one of the best amateurs in the American Washington DC Area for under 14's. There were numerous articles about him.
I beat him really badly and they had to throw in towel.

Say what? The OH right is probably the most "counter-able" punch there is, because it typically comes from way back, and takes a long time to reach its target. That why so few fighters use it well.

I never saw Leonard vs Ayube, but I seem to recall that Leonard was more of a straight right guy, most of the time. There could be 2 reasons why his OH right was so effective in that fight:

First, Leonard had incredible hand speed.
Second, perhaps Ayube was only thinking defense, not using the shell ala Tyson to set up a counter.

    Who? What? :huh

They throw their version of an overhand right called an overhand left.

If you want to know what it looks like stand in front of a mirror and throw an overhand right.

Your image in the mirror will appear to be throwing an overhand left.

You sure posting a lot for someone that doesn't like posting here  Post us a video showing how you defeated the shoulder roll. Probably hard to show that against a heavy bag with some headgear on isn't it? Hell you might as well turn pro now since you're some ATG.

    :rofl What a tool.

if this is true, i give respect to anyone who steps in the ring as i know how it feels, i still get that nervous feeling in my stomach from getting ready to spar :-(

although i do think you're taking things out of line, not an ego boost or anything but not everyone is as talented as some people like you say. Its not as simple as that, i remember trying an over hand only to have the guy bend over to the side. I did only manage to get in a right to the shoulder and get a left hook in luckily but yeah it's not as simple as you say. Im thinking especially since its a guy like floyd it would be even more difficult.

Explain what you mean by ala Tyson.

What the hell are you talking about? South Paws can't throw the over hand right because their right is their jab...

Who the hell is talking about the straight right? Nobody in this thread mentioned the straight right. The straight right is for novice fighters. We are talking about the OVERHAND right.
