I believe Ed Valero gave DLH the shiner....but it's easy to say that DLH was affected by having to drop down to WW for his super fight with PAC....No one had ever saw DLH get destroyed. EVERYONE was surprised.....but PAC most definitely DID NOT fight a prime DLH. But that was the same DLH who gave Floyd one of his hardest boxing matches only a year before and who had schooled Stevie at 150 only months before. PAC's domination created a bunch of excuses from those who were riding with DLH to mop the floor with this guy. And his die hard fans had a very difficult time accepting what we never would have predicted going into the fight with the smaller and lesser know boxer from the Philippines.

No it wasn't. One fought in his natural weight, the other a full class lower in a division he hadn't seen in a decade. Why is this so hard to understand?

the "reality" is that roach said that he saw the iv in hoyas arm.

"i saw the IV in his arm."

    -Freddie Roach speaking to BoxingFanHouse.

how dense and dumb are you?

and if he were to say this and it were not true it would be construed as slander and he could be sued by dlh. sorry if you dont have any legal experience but it is what it is.

again, do you see how he retracted his jmm steroid allegation yet he never did so with his dlh allegation?

    http://ringtv.craveonline.com/blog/176309-roach-responds-to-hernandez-threat

funny how kirk is no longer around as it blatantly obvious that roach indeed say the iv, the marks and it is very pausible that he made a bet after doing so.

now...what about that other banned alias of yours?

DLH's career peaked at 147....but yea.... the Older past his prime DLH was comfortable at 154 where he had dispatched of Mayorga to grab the WBC title that Floyd would win via split decision.

So I have no qualms saying Floyd beat a better version of DLH than PAC did...but the utter domination that PAC put on vs the close, competitive fight that Floyd presented has to be considered as well.

Some of these comments have surprised me on this thread. In my opinion, this can't be declared as a great win for Manny. Oscar was dead at the weight.

Here's just a few facts to consider:

Oscar didn't look great against Forbes 6 months earlier.

    He was approaching 36.

He hadn't fought at welterweight for nearly 8 years!

He used to rehydrate upto around 10 pounds after each weigh in.

Freddie Roach actually expected him to rehydrate to between 10-15 pounds.

Freddie also knew he wasn't the same fighter as he once was by saying "Oscar can no longer pull the trigger."

Now at that stage of Oscar's career, I'm sure that Manny would have caused him a lot of problems despite Oscar's weight problems. But Oscar was dead at the weight. It's as simple as that.

He only rehydrated by 2 pounds!!

Again, for an average fight he used to rehydrate up to 10, and because he hadn't fought at 147 since early 2001, everyone assumed it would be more. The fact that he was only able to rehydrate by just 2 pounds, tells you what condition his body was in.

Manny was in the right place at the right time.

fighting Pac at 147 was till Oscars idea though.
Lets not forget Pac had to comeup 2 divisions where Oscar had to come down one.

It backfired completely but this is not Pacs fault.

How dense AND dumb are you....so you are taking the word of a guy who CLAIMS he actually saw the IV sticking out of DLH's arm? C'mon Corky......think a little. I know it's hard but this is some real low level **** that a ****** could easily see.

How does the JMM accusations have anything to do with the statement he made about seeing an IV sticking out of DLH's arm?:think You're all over the place kid.....you obviously have trouble focusing.

    And what about it?

Quincy you're making a fool of yourself mate.

Roach saw the IV marks on DLH when the REFEREE WAS GIVING HIS INSTRUCTIONS TO THE FIGHTERS IN THE RING.

He then told Manny to jump on Oscar right away.

Source = HBO 24/7 Hatton vs Pacquaio.

I look tremendous hitting the bag:D.....I doubt you or I would look "good" going up against DLH at 147 or even close to how Manny looked in dispatching Oscar. DLH shut out Forbes only months earlier and weighing only a few pounds more. Go figure.

What I'm saying is that Pac, in coming in at 142, was much more comfortable with the weight than DLH was.

Pac has been rehydrating up to 145-147 since his days at 130. Compare that to Mayweather, who, in his fights with Castillo, rehydrated to only 138 (and that was at 135).

This wasn't some tiny guy performing the arduous task of putting on pounds.
