What fighters made it in the pro ranks against the odds, without muh amateur pedegree or big promoter backing as prospects? Obviously anyone making it is probably against the odds but some have lots of hype when they turn pro, were Olympians etc.

HOF fighters I know who people would never have guessed would achieve what they did is Hopkins and Pacquaio. I dont really know rhe backgrounds of a lot of fighters or how they got started so Id like you to educate me

Glen Johnson his ring name says it all (the road warrior)
O'neil Bell only a hand full of amateur bouts
Nonitio Donaire (came up the hard way)
There are plenty of them there my 3 favourites.

hagler, had to fight his way through loads of quality fighters, often in their hometown, on the way up, hence his two early losses

dick tiger lost 4 in a row after moving from nigeria to england, and went on to be champion

Hagler comes to mind first. No doubt.

Larry Holmes to an extent. Took him a long time to get any respect.

Lol yourself fella. Anyone who has fought pro knows coming through the ranks with no promoter is hard mate. As I was trying to say Donaire had no promoter took short money fights and fights out of his weight class so in my eyes he has done it the hard way.
