Tavoris Cloud vs. Bernard Hopkins & Keith Thurman vs. Jan Zaveck RBR

Bernard's d' is so sick even at such an old age. Fascinating.

 

I think Hopkins popped some ecstasy in round 6 or 7 and came up hard after the 12th. Never seen him so hyped up and happy after a fight.

Bernard proclaims the 40-and-up club still rules.

He tells all the kids looking to get into sports, you can do it clean and not resort to drugs.

He says he took a while to get warmed up. He worked on combination punches, which is a hard adjustment when you're used to throwing single blows the way he's done for much of his career. Bernard says that he found his rhythm around the 4th or 5th and things became easy due to Cloud's telegraphing. He says Cloud is a gutsy strong young champion and will be champ again. Bernard says he told Cloud not to worry, that he'd only be around in his way a few more years. He says, however, that he has a history of destroying young champions only for them to never be heard from again.

Bernard says he was the forgotten third child in the house during the 90's when Roy Jones and James Toney were getting the love & the money. Hopkins points to the huge crowd he drew at Barclay's tonight and says that his time finally came. He thanks everybody. He wants to return to Barclay's to defend the title, and he wants it on HBO.

 

And Cloud is the worst champion in all divisions through all sports.

Kudos to Bernard but if you didnt see this result you should stop watching boxing and switch sports

Cloud needs to leave that Mexican and go back to his trainer in Florida. I dont understand the gameplan they had but he should have been in seek and destroy pressure mode.

You see what a wrote. You don't understand what I am saying? I knew he would beat Pascal and Cloud and would lose to Calzaghe and Dawson. If you don't know boxing well enough to know styles and how they work, don't get upset-the fact is Bernard handpicks and this win is good but not great... And 48? look I am his age. I like him. I am just a week younger than Bernard, but this is a guy who slows down the pace and knows how to fight certain styles against week champions. Look at Cloud's last fight and who he fought.

 

Well for once there was nothing with which to take umbrage on the judges' cards.
