Joe Calzaghe's Victory over Hopkins is an ATG win

butt hurt Americans whining about the decison is not controversy, any objective boxing fan knows Joe won easy. his style was all wrong for old bhop.

BHop beat Tarver and Wrinky before losing to Calzaghe

 

Yes Calzaghe beat a younger version of Hopkins but Taylor beat even younger version. With Hopkins younger better than older is not so obvious.

 

An epic snoozefest it was, correct.

 

Hopkins post 40 has probably beaten more named opponents.

Later in his 40s, if matched against crude one dimensional fighters whose real asset is basically power, i.e. your Pavliks, Pascals Clouds etc, BHop almost everytime.

Against slick boxers with high workrate and/or accuracy, Calzaghe, Taylor and to an extent Dawson, BHop loses.

 

Who cares, Hopkins has fought the best and goes down as an ATG.

Calzaghe never quite got there, you gotta take the risks in this game.

It was a remarkable win by an ATG fighter. Joe went up in weight to Hopkins backyard, went down in the 1st and then belittled and humiliated his opponent for 9 of the 12 rounds once he adapted. This was the brittle handed shot Joe that was bloated too against a prime Hopkins who years later keeps humiliating young champions.

It showed why Hop was right to duck a prime Calzaghe too. If it hadn't have been for Joe Cortez Calzaghe would have been the 1st man to stop Hopkins that night, he was done and gasping in his corner between rounds.

Anyone who scored it for Hopkins is either racist or a troll, Joe schooled him for 9 rounds including raping him.

 

Calzaghe fan here, in that fight, I think you'll find it hard to find someone who thought Bhop fight should be stopped. You are obviously a troll

ANyone with an ounce of common sense could see Hopkins was done, he was gasping and needed a rest, the relentless pressure got to him, he would have gone down had he not feigned the low blow, but for that 5 min rest he was done and you know it racist.
