Yeah, but with the judges in his pocket and being a belt defensive it was a keep busy making some cash fight.

What Paulie means is, he isn't taking 350k to fight a young guy like Thurman on a voluntary defense, nor should he.

Paulie's on the old side of 32.. and his point sticks... take easy cherry picked fights for 6 figures.. or offer him something to take a big risk of ending his career.

He's got the belt, and he holds the cards. Thurman isn't going to get him much more than the Cano defense at this point.

The Broner fight meets the criteria of risk/reward. Make the money Paulie, you earned that **** on the end of Cotto's punches.

What a butthurt brother talks about a different subject to try and get some revenge but puts a joke of a fight in which no reaction from me will be gained because everyone knows that was a joke fight.

    Dumbass.. :nut

Honestly, I always wish we could have seen Paulie against Floyd.

If somehow Paulie beats Broner.. I want that fight. I pick Floyd big time, but I'd love to see what a guy like Paulie would try to do against such a great defensive fighter like May.

Zaveck has only been stopped once in his career and that was on cuts lol. It was a great experience for Thurman who had never been past 8 rounds.

Paulie's wins are mediocre at best. I thought he beat Baby Bull twice, but after that beating from Marquez he was done.

Not only did he lose when he stepped up, he wasn't competitive at all. He got outboxed by Ricky Hatton FFS AND he just got a gift decision against a Mexican journeyman. He's a bum.

Broner hasn't made close to 1M in his career. HBO isn't going to pay Paulie more than 350K to be an opponent.

You sure about that, it's by far the biggest name Broner has fought yet.

Also, Paulie vs Broner needs a 24/7.. the **** talk will be off the charts.

Fight is supposed to be at the Barclay's... it'll sell a lot of tickets and will be situated to be Broner's big coming out party to the world.

That said, I doubt it's going to actually happen. Broner jumping 2 divisions in just a few months? I give that about 25% chance of actually taking place.

Also Paulie works for Showtime.. Broner is HBO's new big thing.

That was entertaining. Paulie has the advantage of having the quicker wit and having the camera right on him so you can hear and see everything he's saying. Thurman has the advantage of having a little more integrity only in the sense that he's a prospect who doesn't yet have to pretend he isn't in it just for the money. If Paulie's voice was an octave lower then he would be 10x more intimidating but yeah, round 1 of trash talking goes to Paulie. Thurman's shouty bit about ducking was a bit cringe.

I feel as though Thurman's approaching a similar situation to Golovkin though in that he's becoming high risk low reward. I hope he isn't deprived of too many big fights because of promoters. He actually impressed me quite a bit in this fight.

It's the biggest name, but they aren't really paying Broner all that much. He himself got 300K(before the fines) against Escobedo)

..and honestly who the **** was Broner before that fight? The PDL was still haunting him at that point.

People honestly didn't start taking him seriously again until after the Escobedo and really after the DeMarco fight.

I guarantee he got less than 750K for the Demarco and Rees fights. It took Donaire years and he just got his first 1M purse against Arce. HBO's budget isn't limitless.

Donaire fights in the weight divisions that hardly ever making money.

As much as I like the little guys, a lot of the world thinks boxing starts at Lightweight.

Notice how Donaire has gotten more popular as he's gained weight? He's going to have to keep going up to make it into the big time.

It's not a coincidence that Floyd, Cotto, Manny, JMM all moved up.. and it wasn't just because the weight suited them better.. it's higher weight.. more exposure... more money.

Paulie best win of all the the guys u mention is against a much smaller, cant punch lightweight diaz. Funny paulie talks about he got robbed in that fight but in his last fight he got a gift win and thats ok to him lol. And whats funny that last fight was against a bum fighter cano lol.
