Certainly not going to go 15. We would be justified in favouring Patterson fairly heavily, but this would be a dangerous match for him and not a given.
agreed. if he's aware of satterfield's power and respects it, he avoids him for 3 rounds and knocks him out in the 5th
Patterson. obviously, because he was just on another level, chin and power aside give me the better fighter every day.....
It is not just the difference in class. From a stylistic standpoint, Patterson would be likley to get Satterfield before Satterfield got him. Of vourse Satterfield cannot be counted out, and that is why he had such a fan following then and now.
the charles fight seems to be his career in a nutshell...balls out to get you and if he can't, you got him
A knockout for sure. If it's an early KO, it's Satterfield who wins, if it's a late KO, it's Patterson winning
Patterson obviously had the skills to beat Satterfield but Bob was a puncher and a dangerous fight for Floyd
Satterfield was known as a puncher but other than his punching power, he was fairly ordinary and he was also known to not take a punch that well. Patterson was a very good all around fighter and he was a big puncher. Patterson's took a better punch than he is given credit for. When you watched the LH version of Patterson you were watching an all-time great LH. and if Satterfield faced Patterson, it probably would have been early in Patterson's days when he fought in the 170's. Patterson's power, accuracy and speed at LH was amazing. Just watch the Jimmy Slade fight and you will see what i mean. Bottom line is Patterson KO's Satterfield 80% of the time. Satterfield always had a punchers chance.
