I got JDS in a decision. he is tough as nails, Cain beat the **** out of him and he took it 5. He outpoints Hunt. Hope the odds are close

Yeah but if Hunt lands like Cain landed that punch in the first, JDS is going down !!

I think JDS can hang. Struve had no business lasting 3 rounds. He fights like an idiot.

I believe he got clipped by Cain cuz he had his hands lower than usual due to the fact that Cain shot on him like 20 times before he clipped JDS with that right hand

Yeah. I'm not even sure that Cain was really putting any effort into those first couple of takedowns, and that's why they appeared to look so sloppy. I think he was just putting them in JDS' head so he would lower his hands and become tentative with his striking.

    What's BS? :huh

How is a career .500 fighter with a flabby, obese physique, zero charisma, **** all name recognition and a streak of six consecutive first-round stoppage losses stretching over five years, going to be considered for title contention? Because he likes to stand and bang? :blood

When Hunt stepped into the Octagon for his first UFC fight, he was riding five consecutive first-round losses (against A-grade competition, it is true) and hadn't won a fight for more than four years.

Then Sean McCorkle broke his arm in one minute, taking Hunt's career record to 5-7. At that stage, Hunt had five pro MMA wins, and seven first-round stoppage losses. He literally had more first-round submission losses than he had professional wins.

And his physique looked like this - he's got curvy woman hips FFS, except they're made of flab:

That's where he started in the UFC.

Wow, why wasn't that guy in title contention? He beat Wandy and Cro Cop in Japan years ago! He fought in PRIDE!

Now he's stepped up his competition fight by fight, he's winning fights, and his exciting win over Struve has put him into title contention. Knock Junior out and he'll be almost assured as the next title shot. And fair enough too. He's earned a shot at the top of the division. Before KOing Struve, he hadn't.

Yep the UFC machine WAS hard at work while you were typing that.

Hard at work making the fight you wanted, that is.

    What now?

Let me guess. ***** ***** *****, is what now.

Agreed. That punch in the first round really ****ed Junior. After that he just couldn't get it together. I thought JDS still fought well though, considering his reflexes, co-ordination and power were clearly badly affected. He got up off the floor a few times and tried his best to fight back, but you could see that his body just wasn't responding because that punch in the first scrambled him and after that Cain never let him have a breather to get himself together. :conf

Taking quote of people out of context and not understanding there point is one of your specialty I shouldn't be surprised at all by this.

The BS is the usual ****in non-sense DW is spewing out of his ****in mouth.

So according to this thread, DW said on twitter Hunt refused the fight, wich is ****in BS anybody with half a brain cell would know that, so why did he said that ? Another ****in lie as usual !

And you like the ****** that you are you quote a message that was posted days before the fight is officially announced with pointless stuff in it because we had an argument about a similar subject in the past and now for the 10 ****in time you are explaining you pointless point of view about this issue...you feel better now ? less sand in you vagina ?

Now you can either think that DW was going to do the fight anyway, or you can think he wouldn't have done it if the fan wouldn't have bitched about it. I take option B, you take option A...ok ??

It's ****in BS IMO that people like Nelson are always more or less 2 fight aways from a title shot but Struve can go **** himself, he could finish 4 guy in the first round until they finally give him someone for a title contention. Yeah he probably has the worst ring IQ ever, but if he wins they is no reason for him to stay low in the ranking. Double standard and popularity contest... !

Who knows what happened in the private negotiations? Do you know? :blood I sure as hell don't. All I know is that the fight wasn't on, and then it was on. Maybe there was some sticking point that Hunt and White's "GREAT conversation!!!" cleared up. Who knows? All I know is - the fight is on and you can quit bitching and crying about Dana shutting Hunt out of the picture. :good

Tell me why Hunt should have been in the mix with the top guys before he beat Struve.

    Go on, tell me. :good

Because he beat Wandy and Cro Cop back in the day?

Because he was a K-1 champ?

Because he had a good streak of quality wins in the last few years?

Why exactly should he have been in the mix with the likes of Werdum, Bigfoot and Ubereem?

So according to you, the FANS wanted that fight, and Dana saw the interest and gave it to them.

    So what's the problem?

How are you gonna **** on the guy for giving the fans the fight that you called for? :patsch

"People like Nelson" are SUPPOSED to always be a couple of fights away from a title shot. That's what a gatekeeper is for. If you are top-level, you'll beat Roy. If you aren't, he'll turn you away. Maybe he could get win streak going, and then he might grab a title shot. But look at Roy's UFC losses.

    JDS - Noncompetitive ass-beating
    Mir - Haven't seen/can't remember this one.
    Werdum - One-sided ass-kicking.

If Roy beat any of those guys, he'd be right in the mix. But he didn't beat them. That's why he's a gatekeeper. Because the Juniors and Mirs and Werdums beat him comfortably, and the Hermans and Mitriones lose to him.

    What's Struve's best win? Miocic?

Struve is a young fighter who has been knocked out by the best guys he's faced. He's an extremely popular and marketable fighter - but he's not ready for a title shot yet. He has plenty of time. If he had beaten Hunt, he would have been where Hunt is now. :bart

Haggis, I've been paying attention to your posts lately and I think your a great poster, you talk sense and are very effective at getting your point across.

I just thought I would share that with you.

And Hunt is knock JDS's head off. Bet on it.

So stilll can't get in your thick skull that it was 2 days before it was official and before words of a big talk between the 2.

**** off Haggis, if you ain't got **** to do tonight take a look at youjizz, got better things to do then arguing with an idiot like yourself ! :nut

Forgeting that at the time of #rally4markhunt it was for a replacement, Hunt got injured anyway and Velasquez got the shot and won on top of it.

So why Hunt, because at the time he was available and it was a fan friendly fight to make. Need more reasons ?

And you forgetting the UFC management did ****in worse then that ! :good

See earlier in the post and try to remember the definition of the word context next time.

I just think they are waiting too long for Struve. He will always have success against newcomer in the division and then maybe always loose against gatekeeper so whats the point ? He is a fan friendly guy don't get me wrong sucks for him, if he wants a title in his career maybe he should consider Bellator ?

It sucks that the loudest voices on this subforum tend to be trolls and haters. I can't understand why anyone who calls themselves an MMA fan would spend so much energy hating on Dana and the UFC, when the sport is inarguably in a MUCH better place now that it has EVER been. :conf

Lotta black/white simpleton types around here. But, what are you gonna do.

    I bet the other way.

But then, I lost better than 100,000 vcash over the last four or five bets, so what the hell do I know. ****in' Hopkins. :fire
