Seeing as Dawson already beat Hopkins convincingly, and Hopkins beat Pascal convincingly, and I have no interest seeing him vs Cleverly, and he won't fight Andre Ward for any amount of money because he respects him so much (knows he would lose).....how about Hopkins moves up to Cruiserweight to try and win his 3rd world title. IBF Champ Yoan Pablo Hernandez is seen the No.1. He also holds the ring title. Krzysztof Wlodarczyk is the WBC Champ. I don't think either man woild be againat traveling to the USA for a big fight with Hopkins. Would you wanna see this?
Nah I'd rather see him take on Shumenov and Cleverly and then try and take on the probably depleted Chad a third time.
Dont think Dawson will happen, and don't think he will be champ in a years time anyways. Was hardly a cracking fight?
The Cleverly fight is starting to appeal to me, I have considered that nobody is ever the same after facing Bernard, so hopefully after Hopkins beats him, Cleverly and his hairband will **** off for good.
Id rather see Hopkins steal Cleverlys soul, destroy him and we never have to hear about Cleverly as a world champ again.
Is this in jest ?....If not Surely Cruiserweight will be a step too far I just can not see how B-Hop can beat anyone in that weight those men are going to have at least a 40-30lb advantage on the night over B-Hop. I'd rather see VVarren cash in Cleverly and see school him before his impending demise.
Hopkins wouldnt beat any of the titlists at cruiser, they'd all be too big & too powerful for him to handle. There are plenty of interesting fights at light-heavyweight for him, no need to move up.
Hopkins doesn't have the frame or power to be effective at CW, the way he times opponents with that straight right just wouldn't be as effective at cruiser against bigger men. Also Hopkins takes a very safety first approach, when facing big punchers his hit and hold tactics just wouldn't work and the difference in physical strength would be too much for a 48 year old. I'd also like to see him in with Cleverly, although Hopkins takes him to school and gives him a long and painful detention, I do think Cleverly's work rate and speed might make it interesting.
I dont think he could hold the extra weight and be the same fighter. He's still very competitive at LHW so why move?
Nathan Cleverly ‏@NathanClev Congrats to B-Hop on winning the IBF world title. Will deal with this guy on April 20th, then we can get it on #unification Retweeted by Frank ******
