Its probably better if you just ignore me to be honest mate, I'm not a fan of Calzaghe never have been, never will be, the thought of him getting praise horrifies me.

Well calzaghe beat a younger and prime Kessler without resorting to headbutting his eye open and not having the ref allow it so

Nah , I've been here since 05 reading all sorts of posts regarding Calzaghe some to the negative i also agree with but not in this case, Punches win fights not words , same as pre fight words don't lose you fights either .

 fair enough, I was harsh on him when he was active and I didn't rate the Hopkins win that highly at the time, but since he's been retired I've come to appreciate Joe. Froch is the best fighter in Britain at the moment, and Calzaghe would have boxed rings around him and beat him clearly. But I agree Calzaghe deserves a fair bit of criticism as well for the simple fact that he could have and should have done more with his career

Btw I'm as critical of Cleverly at this stage in his career as I was when Calzaghe first beat Eubank to become a fragmented champion , I understand soft option defences are vital to a young fighter both in boxing experience and financial terns but I hope he steps up sooner ( next two years ) rather than later.

Yeah i agree, but with present circumstances and fisheyes stalling him to keep his empire intact we may have to wait

I take it back chaps, you are not Calzaghe fanboys, fans maybe but not fanboys, you can take heart from that fact.

I repect Hopkins and Jones Jr but Calzaghe gets too much shite especially so next door in the general forum. I wouldnt say the majority are calzaghe fanboys they just stand up for a boxer who gets too much discredit than should be deserved.

Hopkins and Jones Jr have holes in their careers to pick at but id rather not.

Aren't you one of the guys who says that Jones wasn't shot when Calzaghe fought him?

No i`m not one of those guys, my point concerning that episode is that Jones fans were saying that Jones would beat Calzaghe only to get semi schooled.

Before the fight on the sweetscience site i was saying that Jones hasnt got it anymore. and calzaghe would win. But still even after the fight Jones went on and beat Lacy and Sheika.

I gotta feeling Nath will be home and hosed in 2-3 years as a retired unified champ @ 175 mate , far too smart a kid to punch for pay into his 30's IMO , I just hope he who can't be named here allows him to develop into the fighter I think he could be by permitting him to fight the best available at all times because IMO he's gone backwards since the Bellew win ( that in itself is looking a better win given Tonys recent improvement as well ) , I would like to see Nath **** off old guy promoter and get with someone who can deliver the bigger fights stateside for him .

Unless his current promoter can deliver a big summer fight for him here in Cardiff this summer if I was Nath I would be off , **** it careers can be over in a blink of an eye , unification with Hopkins on HBO around June would be my acid test for him , if I was Nath I would push for that fight win or lose it would achieve two things , worldwide exposure in the boxing world and a shed load of cash off the casual fight fans turning up at the new City of Cardiff stadium .
