I cant for the life of me understand how to embed a youtube vid anymore ive tried [YT] [/ YT] with both capital letters and small ones

 

You just paste the string of text past the last slash in the Youtube URL.

So instead of pasting this:

http://youtu.be/Vyyrpjm49hA

You just paste this:

Vyyrpjm49hA

You have the tags right.
