    he does suck, but...

NOBODY was picking Ortiz or Guerrero to beat him.

  6. Very good question you're proposing here. I believe Berto is a good fighter who does suffer from some weird circumtances. I remember an interview where he mentioned he had a problem with red cells and whatnot a few years ago, and I do believe him. He didn't look right in that ring against Guerrero that night, he looked unbelievably weak and fragile. It was an unusual, unnatural weakness, and the way his eyes got swollen up was as if he got an allergic reaction. I know all of this sounds weird but I'm just trying to show that it was just kind of odd. And I'm not taking anything away from Guerrero - he is the kind of fighter to put a guy like Berto on tidal waters like those.

That wasn't the same Berto that fought Ortiz. The Berto of the Ortiz fight knew more beyond laying against the ropes, it was amore dynamic and live version of him. So I don't think Berto is a bad fighter, I think he is an incosistent one due to some issues that he has.

Now, to answer your question, I think it's a little bit of both. I think Guerrero is a tough mofo and was the wrong matchup against a guy who is unstable from fight to fight, round to round. Guerrero tested him not only physically but mentally, he broke down an insecure Berto in both aspects.

    Exactly.

If Ortiz or Guerrero fought Pac, people would be hailing their Berto victories as the greatest fistic accomplishment of the century.

    No they wouldn't.

People don't talk about Pacs win over Diaz or hype Diaz to be something hes not, similar level of win.

Just because Berto was overrated doesn't mean beating him makes you elite, especially when he had already been beat clearly by Ortiz. Plenty of people picked Ortiz or Guerrero. All they where doing both times is trying to set up PBF - Berto. I really hope I never have to see that fight....

I'm only joking anyway, they are 2 **** fights/ tune ups. It happens.

All roads lead to Mayweather. Well.....technically speaking, Berto is the only road to Mayweather. :patsch And yes, Berto is that bad. His real test was Ortiz, who was made to quit by Maidana, and which Berto failed miserably. Then he gets his ass kicked by Guerrero, (a Guerrero who was beaten by Gamaliel Diaz :patsch) and has really not beaten anyone other than....Berto. And gets a controversial desicion over Collazo, who really hasn't done **** either.

tbh i think its 50/50, Berto has no inside game and once he misses the right hand he switches off, Guerrero brang the fight and was not taking no for an answer and has a hell of a chin, i think Berto thought he would probably stop Guerrero with the first right hand he didnt look like he was taking it seriously, Guerrero kept it on the ropes to take away everything Berto had
