Canelo certainly did give an ultimatum. He clearly stated that he wouldn't fight on Mayweather's undercard unless he got a signed agreement that Mayweather would fight him next. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. The general feeling I'm getting from this forum is that Canelo is a legit threat to Mayweather, and that Mayweather is scared of Canelo.

some even argue that Alvarez hasnt beat anyone to deserve the fight :nut

I agree his resume isn;t great, but its not like floyd looked at his resume, and thought, hmmmm, this fight will earn me more but it might be too easy.

He's blatantly seen that Alvarez is a very risky fight, so side stepped it, and tried to get him on his undercard.

    floyd agreed to that.

Canelo has gone beyond undercard fighting. Especialy on Mexican weekend.

So floyd said fight on my undercard, and if we both win, i'll fight you in september.

Alvarez accepts, and says yes, just put it in writing for me.

How the hell is tahat an ultimatum.

It's almost as bad as the Manny one.

Floyd "I will only fight Manny if he takes a smaller percentage"

Manny " Ok I take smaller percentage lets Fight"

Floyd "Manny don't get to dictate terms"

    :nut

Canelo wanted a guaranteed Floyd Mayweather fight, win/lose/draw against Trout.

Slightly different to "both of us win and we fight", is it not?

Said it many times. At this stage of his career, Floyd doesn't want to be getting into the ring with a young, strong, true 154 pounder. In his eyes, Floyd's paid his dues, and if he wants to cruise his way in to an undefeated career, he'll do it. Shame because it denies us of some intriguing fights, but it is what it is.

Canelo wanted it in writing, that if they both win, they fight in september.
