h2h, I believe it to be Matthysse followed by (in no particular order) Peterson, Garcia, Allakhverdiev, and Khan.

The next tier below them is Rios, Alvarado, Judah...

I think its a division thats really hard to pick

    Looking at the ring list:
Garcia, Matthyse, Khan, Peterson, Judah, Marquez, Rios

I think Marquez is the best of the lot there. But its a division where anyone can beat anyone on a given day.

Postol might not be far off from breaking into the top 5 if he impresses against Lundy next week and follows up with a meaningful top-10 opponent.

Who the **** has Matthysse beat to be number 1? I really don't think Matthysse beats Khan, it really is a deep division, I think Peterson beats more 140 guys than anyone else can. Bradley is willing to fight at 140 in which case he beats everyone.

Lucas stops Khan between rounds 6-10. Khan does not hit nearly hard enough to dissuade Matthysse and, given the whispers about his shaky beard, you can expect Lucas to apply maximum pressure from the opening bell.

Folks yammer on about Khan's chin, with some justification. What should concern Khan fans as much, however, is medicore defense and modest footwork. Both place him in positions where his chin gets tested.

The question wasn't "#1 by way of deed".

It asks "Who is the best light welterweight right now?"

That is Lucas Martin Matthysse, if you cut through other top 140lbers avoiding him and two receiving gift decisions over him.

Peterson looked that good last time out, I don't want to look past him. It's a toss up really though, especially between that fab four of Peterson, Garcia, Khan and Matthysse. Personally, I think Garcia is a little overrated and would be beaten by Peterson or Matthysse. Can't wait for May 18th, that's for sure.
