    Philippines was ruled from the Viceroyalty of New Spain (now Mexico) almost its whole Spanish period (just the last 80 years were directly from Spain cuz Mexico got its independence), so the "Spaniards" that went there were mostly born in New Spain, and they brought also Mexican natives. :roll:
