Malignaggi v Broner - Joke fight or respectable move?

I would havve liked Broner to spend a year or two at 140, due to all the talent there (and lack of at 147 at the moment), but this isn't a terrible fight. Paulie's got balls and skills to match his ego. Should be a good fight.

 

It's a very good fight for him at this point. Paulie will be the best he's fought so far. Those huge fights at 140 will be there for a long time yet.

 

Acceptable fight for move up don't like the skipping though

 

It's a stupid fight more than a joke fight. No need to be fighting at welterweight.

 

Broner gets to try out a new weight without having to taste true welterweight power. It's a trial run.

 

Great business move for both...
Broner gets a belt & the "multi division" champ thing.
Paulie gets paid & ends his career Vs. a young fighter.

 

Personally I like it.


Not a fan of Broner but do like Malinaggi.

Its not a joke or an excellent fight.

Paulie is a legit top 10 WW,While Broner was fighting at 130 last year.

Paulie has been in with some elite guys,and has always been tough.

Hes bigger,stronger,faster and more skilled than anyone Broner has fight so far.

However,there are bigger fights out there Broner.

It will be an interesting fight. If Broner wins,it will give him a belt, which will mean the likes of Berto,Pacquiao,Alexander/Brooke, maybe even Mayweather coming after him.

If those foights happen, people will forget he skipped 140.

Besides,whos to say he wont come back down and fight at 140?

Pacquiao and Marquez have done it in recent years.

 

The weight class jump and Paulie's belt give the fight automatic significance.

 

I don't remember seeing this thread when Khan announced his fight with Diaz

 

Broner can fight those guys later since they are all tied up anyways.

It's a good fight. I'm upset he went over 140 to 147, and really really hope he goes back down. Although he'd then hold a belt hostage or vacate, meaning he didn't need to face Paulie right now....

 

Good fight softest Champion at welter weight, loud mouth punk I wouldnt mind seeing getting his ass beat....
