Better ring IQ - Hopkins, Mayweather or Marquez?

Did he look the same before and after the Floyd fight yes or no? did Cotto look the same before and after the Floyd fight? How about Hatton? I don't care how feather-fisted you think Floyd is, when he hits you over and over again by shots you don't see coming for 10 to 12 rounds it takes something out of you.

Travoris Cloud, Jean Pascal, Roy Jones's Corpse? This **** has to stop. Bernard Hopkins gets so damn overrated, its sad. If his ring IQ is SO GOOD, why couldn't he beat Jermain Taylor, 8 years ago, even once out of the 2 tries?

Bernard Hopkins just beat a champion, and in Jean Pascal he beat a champion, but those are NOT elite fighters, not even top fighters.

To say Bernard Hopkins is in the class of Floyd Mayweather and JMM right now, in any category of boxing, is outrageous. Ring IQ? How does he have a better Ring IQ than Floyd and JMM? Floyd barely ever even loses a round, and he has multiple styles he can and has fought in over the past years, and JMM has been the only fighter to figure out one of the best offensive fighters in this generation, Manny Pacquaio.

 

Well he's outboxed the likes of Tarver, Winky, Trinidad, and Pavlik as an "old man". Pascal was elite enough to beat Dawson. The resumes are debatable, but it's clear Hopkins uses a great deal of anticipation and craft to outsmart fighters at or near the top of their weight class without too many physical advantages, and at an age where he's not as explosive. He's done it because of his skills and Ring IQ.

I'm going to say Mayweather by a not so wide margin but mind you I have nothing but love for all three of these guys, as fighters in the ring and mostly outside of it. Mayweather being the question mark outside of it of course.

I think BHop has the highest boxing IQ, Marquez is the more exciting technician, and Floyd is the best fighter of the three.

Nobody neutrilzes another opponents strenghts Like BHop with so little physical advantages.

Mayweather and Hopkins wouldn't repeat the same tactical error which caused them as dearly as a knockdown. Floyd especially makes his adjustments in real time. Marquez needed that time in the corner between rounds 1 and 2.

Marquez is good at getting ride of the angles for his opponent's left, but he pays severely when he ****s up. Years later he got knocked down one more time by manny's left during the fourth fight. Marquez can compromise his balance when taking a left wheres Floyd is stabilized.

Floyd can be backed up because he's comfortable behind his shoulder and boxing off the ropes. A few opponents took advantage of this aspect of his style and had some success.

Floyd figured out how to win a comfortable decision despite Oscar's features that troubled Floyd's style. When Marquez was faced with a taller and longer man with a nice jab he couldn't figure out how to win a single round.

Hopkins. His physical skills have almost completely eroded in comparison to his prime, but his mind and skill set still allow him to compete at a championship level. I don't see either Marquez nor Mayweather able to thrive at such a high level once their physical attributes waste away.

by Marquez only having a handful of votes. his ring IQ isn't that good at all. people make too much of the Pac fights. he's his bogey man, nothing more. against the rest of his opponents, Marquez struggled badly with a lot of them.

Floyd has a high IQ, but it doesn't match the all round IQ of hopkins.

 

Hopkins has forgotten more about boxing than the other two know, combined.

Marquez is second in tactics, but not as good as Floyd at making midfight changes.
