dont like the poll choices as its somewhere in between

i think to myself that broner is what 24 or 25 and look what he has already accomplished

this is a hell of an opportunity to just add on to some great work in the first half of his 20's

imagine what he will be doing and who he will be fighting at 28-30 when he will be in his best form

    i like his fight

People keep bringing up 140. Does it even matter? If Broner wins a belt at 147 then I'm pretty sure someone like Matthysse would challenge him at either 140 or 147. Although I'd love to see Broner vs. Rios, forget about Top Rank. Let's look at what's ahead for Broner:

    Khan
    Matthysse
    Peterson
    Thurman
    Guerrero
    D. Garcia
Floyd (hey, 50 Cent turned on Floyd; Broner could do the same)

All good fights and won't be hard make.

Bradley and Pac are out of the equation at 147 both with TR. Goldenboy are stacked with the majority of the best 140 pounders. Biggest challenges for him now are at 140.

I like it. I'm a fan of both guys, wouldn't it be funny to see Paulie featherdust Broner to a UD? Highly unlikely but not impossible

Kind of feel that Broner will rip through him though. We'll see.

Broner would never turn on Floyd, Haymon really does have a hold of his guys.

Paulie Malignaggi isn't someone to underestimate. He has nearly every advantage.... Size, technical ability, versatility, hometown judges, he's the defending champion

Paulie has been in with fighters, bigger, stronger and more skilled than Broner.

I think Broner has an excellent chance at losing, especially considering the venue/judges.

Paulie is gonna get a nice pay day and is ready to retire and talk on tv.I'm sure he'll go out to win ,but he doesn't sound hungry anymore when he talks about fighting. Broner is gonna cherry pick the best fights for him from 140 to 154 over the next few years and be a star.good luck to both.I'd love to see him against khan at 140 or 147

To me its not neither a "Joke Fight" or "Excellent Fighter" its more of an unnecessary fight given that he has at least 2 or 3 good fights at 135 and plenty of good fights at 140 when the dust settles within that division in 2 or 3 months.

    Smoke and mirrors.

Broner is going to beat the bejesus out of Malinaggi and there'll be nothing Paulie can do to stop it.

You know, I was against this fight at first but really..... when one looks at whats going on at 135 and 140 right now then its a decent stay busy fight till a better opponent pops up.

    Matthysse
    Peterson
    Khan
    Garcia
    Judah

    all have fights already.

My thing is, why should Broner, who hasnt fought at 140 or 147, get a WBA title shot against Malignaggi?

Why couldnt Broner have to fight Maidana, and the winner fights Malignaggi?

Before you talk about 'Maidana is already fighting Lopez', that fight was just barely signed. The powers at be knew they could have scheduled Broner against Maidana had they wanted to, instead of Maidana vs Lopez.

But no, intsead of having to fight someone like Maidana first before getting his shot, he gets to just walk right in and fight for the WBA welterweight title when he hasnt even fought at 140lbs before.

Its the politics behind this fight, that are very transparent, that make this fight a target for criticism.

However, the truth is, the fight itself, is not a bad stay busy fight. But stay busy fight means the fight after it is a legit one. If the fight after this isnt a legit fight, then this fight gets shown to be exactly what it appears, a political move to keep Broner away from danger and yet trying to prop him up as one of todays p4p fighters.

Hope so. Paulie is one of those I enjoy seeing getting beat up. He really is "smoke and mirrors", but he is good at it.

Good test for Broner, smart because Pauli don't have the power to hurt Broner! Broner won't stay at WW after this fight. He will go down to JW and fight Rios if he win his next fight. Or Garcia or Peterson.

This poll just goes to shows how many stupid people are on this forum because this is a horrible fight.
