    Nah, big fan of the old man but he's not number one. Top10 for sure, Top5 is a good possibility but not Top3 IMO.

    He is doing some legendary things at lightheavyweight right now, being a genuine top 5 guy at 48 years old.

    Maybe he should have moved up much earlier then he did.

    That all doesn't mean much for his middleweight standing, though.

    I always think at times like this losses aren't held against fighters enough and people only compare top end victories.

    For me Hopkins outside the top ten doesn't make sense in the way I perceive the sport. A 10 year reign, total unification and an incredible skillset.

    Top 5 is a struggle by any measure I mean once you get past Hagler, Monzon, Greb and Robinson it's a bit more open but I'd put ketchel ahead of him.

    If he keeps beating guys like Cloud and Pascal at 175 eventually someone's going to have to rate him as the best middleweight. His victories over Brown, Trinidad and ODLH make him historically valid as a pick for top welterweight as well, I should think.
