He's about 7 years further along in his career, of course he's got a greater legacy now. Point is, Ward is taking the very top fights he can, meaning he's all about legacy. Does he appear to be a guy pre-occupied with money to you? It's odd to me why Mayweather even said all that. It was mentioned to him that Ward said 'Guerrero has a shot' while also praising Floyd. And his response is to attack Ward's career? :huh Overly sensitive.
I agree with Floyd on this. I dont mind Ward staying in Oakland though. That is where the money is for him. Same with Bute in Canada. I am sure Ward will trek over to Vegas someday. Hopefully, on a day that I am on vacation to go!
this is sooo dumb..."the average guy on the street"....atsch and how many "average" people on the street in the UK have you poll?? Where are the stats to back up your statement? What an idiot you are
Floyd is overly sensitive in his interviews and often contradicing. He needs a PR guy that can coach him on what to say unless he just want to be a heel till he retires. I do not see Ward surpassing Floyd. There is nobody in Light Heavyweight and Ward is too small for Heavyweight. Ward is 29 already and this is what he has accomplished Wards wins as of now is Bika, Kessler, Froch, AA, Green and Miranda. One weight division champion. Not bad for one division. Floyd when he was 29: He was already a 4 division champion. Notable bouts are Henderaz, Angel manfreddy, Jesus chavez, Carlos Henderaz, Corrales, Castillo 2x, Gatti, Mitchell, Judah, and Baldomir. So how is Ward going to surpass Floyd?
I agree with some of the things Floyd said but he's being a hypocrite because he mentions God a lot in most of his press conferences and post-fight interviews. He said God doesn't take sides but I remember an interview where he said "When God is on your side, it doesn't matter who is against you" or "God could have chosen anybody, but he chose me". Pot calling the kettle black. This cracked me up though. So is Nate Campbell. Yuri Foreman is in the process of becoming a rabbi.
Yeah the "I don't really know who AW is" was a bit ******ed but I get floyd's point, don't be dicks and look at what he's insinuating. That's not true. I'm from Belgium where boxing is one of the least popular sport and even here there is a fair amount of people who recognize Floyd. To be fair they're motsly black but still. He's probably the most famous active boxer.
