I don't think Burns would sell big tickets without a world title. Has there ever been a big scottish ticket seller without a world belt?

It must have been for the sarcy Frank thread he put up last week. It was deleted and so was Craney I think.
It was Craneys best work imho.

I'm not sure it is a shot to nothing tho. Rees came away relatively unscathed from the Broner fight with his profile enhanced. Burns would be a fellow beltholder meeting to unify. And after all the back and forths we've already had between them, I have a feeling Broner would go out there to do an absolute number on him. I don't think an absolute pasting would do Burns any good against a fighter who is soon on his way out of this division. And lets face it Burns has no chance of beating him and Hearn knows that too.

Eddie speaking perfect sense there. How does this guy get so much stick?

Yeah is a fair point, think with the division how it is he would pick up a belt quickly after a potential loss anyway but suppose there is a risk he wouldn't so not a total shot to nothing on reflection.

Yeah a bad beating would defo harm him and that's why Hearn is likely not too keen on making that fight which is fair enough. I think it's a 50/50 fight as Burns has the prefect disciplined style to beat him and become a maaaassive star. I don't mind which route he goes, I'll pay go watch him either way just think a low risk(maybe better description than shot to nothing) opportunity is being missed but then again I don't understand all the ins and outs that promoters do.

I think the best fighters in a divsion should always meet but Burns-Broner is one that I wouldn't mind not happening. Just because it's freakish how Broner is making lightweight at the mo. Of course some fighters blow up after weigh-ins but if they did meet then on the night Burns would be fighting somebody who'd be closer to light middle

I think Burns needs to settle in to his Matchroom Contract before he takes a big fight.

Ricky is a big lightweight himself, not that big of course.

Ricky would do much better than anyone that has faced Broner thus far (post-Ponce)

Broner should stay at 147 IMO. He'll not have to cut as much and can work more on refining his skills.

Eddie doesn't get much stick at all. He seems like a fair, decent guy. It's just a lot of his fanclub wind people up the wrong way when they give him a pass for any mistakes while praising him for mediocrity.

A few weeks ago perhaps, but its gone overboard now. Theres plenty of people on here now who won't give him any credit and discount any achievements and will blindly defend Frank. Saying things like Burns will now fight bum after bum etc.

I have personally been accused of being his biggest fanboy but i have been critical of Hearn several times in the past few weeks....this thread for example.
