:think you have spent 5 years on this forum denying who you are. http://www.facebook.com/robpalmer135 this is me. also been on here as Jonsey, Big Dunk and robpalmer135 :good
My dad's an old man whose always drunk, is full of conspiracy theories, laughs at his own jokes and winds everyone up. Sounds like a good description of you to be honest Craney.
That aspect doesn't bother me so much. Altho apparently the reason Hopkins-Ward ain't happening is because they've been told they'd have to strap sponges to their foreheads. No, the more hypocritical aspect of his piety is in the other things he's willing to do prior to a fight to win 'in the name of God'.
Floyd is just being Floyd, a trolling self-publicist. You would think people might be used to this by now. I dont agree with his comments about religon & boxing being incompatible. If Holyfield was ok with going to war in the ring on Saturday & then going to church on Sunday then thats ok with me too.
Furthermore to how much of a **** he is, check out the 2:17 minute mark here. Floyd to Ward, "Your name speaks for itself, S.O.G. You know what to do": [yt]tfALnf8FjgM[/yt] "Like I said before, these fighters be killing me with all this S.O.G., man". Is that right, Floyd  "I don't really know Andre Ward". Hmm, sure you don't, Floyd.
It hilarious that Andre Ward thinks he is the "Son of God". As if Brian Laudrup would have a kid when he was only 15!!!!
Bloody hell. atsch He doesn't think he's the "Son of God". He's a Christian, for crying out loud. All Christians believe humans are children of God. Not literally His children, but that they're just His creation. The S.O.G nickname is just him saying he's a believer in God. That's all. Not the second coming of Christ or anything. Can't believe so many people fail to grasp this and think he's being arrogant .
I grasp that he doesn't believe he is Jesus re-incarnate but still think he's a bit of a clown for basing his boxing moniker on his religous beliefs, it comes across as preachy, and it's not just the name it's the things he says after and before the fights too. He seems to always offer some vague religous statement if he's asked a question that he doesn't want to answer, if they ask if he worries about getting hurt in the ring it'll be straight back to christian philosophy, it's dull and rhetorical. Fine to have a faith, good for him and I hope it helps him but please just don't keep bringing it up. It's that kind of fundamentalist attitude, people that allow their religous beliefs to define them and their opinions, that cause a lot of strife all over the world. The "Christian" religion in America is just a very confused *******isation of the bible anyway that they interpret to suit their right wing agenda in the name of "God" that usually persecutes people. Andre Ward is the sports equivalent of the weirdo's outside tube stations shouting things about Jesus and saying "BE WINNERS NOT SINNERS" and personally it just puts me off him.
Anyone bashing Andre Ward is alright in my book... Nothing worse than when SOG starts rabbiting on about his "legacy" :barf
