He already fought Zab who was faster than him. He struggled a bit early on but was able to adjust.

He belongs in this discussion but he's way behind the other two. I think Barrera outsmarted him and should have won the fight, the Casa fight was close until the KO. Marquez is a technician that struggles a lot against other technicians. More than the other two.

All you have to do is watch the first 5 or 6 rounds of that fight. Hopkins did zero, as in near zero punch output.

Hopkins resorts to posing, making faces, and shuffling his feet different ways as if thats what going to win the round for him.

Hopkins is down 5 or 6 rounds to start the fight against Taylor, all Taylor has to do is eek out a round or two in the 2nd half and the fights his.

Contrare, if you scored that fight for Hopkins, you give points for things done in a ring outher than connects. :nut

Not sure why Marquez is on here. He's lost many fights based on his IQ.

He's only lost one clear fight in his career, and you'd be hard-pressed to say he wasn't smart enough when the man he lost to had struggled much more with a host of less intelligent fighters.

Thanks! I'm glad someone actually noticed it lol

nah i still think they are all about the same.....they have displayed great ring IQ....i cant handicap one because he is better athleticly....ring IQ is still ring IQ.....all of them are on par with each other....but they display it differently thats all.

This. Also, he couldn't figure Calzaghe out.

    Mayweather, Hopkins, Juan.

PrinceNhas a point. Considering how good he's been 40+. He did lose at least the first time if not both times due more to tactical mistakes, than he did due to Taylor being a better boxer.

He had him figured out right away but his attributes do not matchup well with a human windmill.
Especially not when hes just flailing slaps so fast no matter how much of a ring general he is and defense he shows people will just score workrate.

Its much like the idiots that score Pac vs JMM3 for Pac based on his inffective aggression.... they just see some guy throwing tons of punches and assume hes landing.

Watch large stretches of the Calzaghe vs Hopkins fight in slowmotion and it becomes painfully obvious how laugheble Joe looked in there vs someone that can box.

I had Hopkins kicking Calzaghe's ass comfortably

Then Taylor beat him once and drew with him later. I think that's how I had it
