    Translation in English:

Imagine Georges St-Pierre and Lucian Bute waging a small war in the ring. The mad dream of a sports fan? No, rather a scene that has been happening on a daily basis for weeks. La Presse (Montreal newspaper) attended a sparring session between Bute and GSP in preparation for his fight against Nick Diaz on March 16.

Lucian Bute launches a big left hook to GSP's head. The same hook that finished Librado Andrade in 2009. The UFC champion is limping around but he retaliates with his own hook to the body.

In the ring, the pace is fast, frantic even. If these two were a band, their album would be far from waltz and closer to death metal! Ringside, trainer Stéphane Larouche shouts his instructions: "Hands high, Georges", don't get stuck in the corner, finish your left hook!"

Georges St-Pierre has been training boxing with Stéphane Larouche since last fall. The fighter has sought the services of Lucian Bute's coach to help him prepare for his return against Carlos Condit. Chemistry was quickly installed. "Stéphane is a great boxing strategist", said St-Pierre.

Their association has never been more important than today. Nick Diaz, who will face St-Pierre at UFC 158 on March 16th at the Bell Center, has the reputation of a big hitter. His specialty is boxing and St-Pierre knows it.

"Diaz is a good fighter, a good southpaw", says GSP's coach, Firas Zahabi. He's not a guy who throws a lot of knees and elbows but he has very good boxing. Georges faces a pure boxer and great grappler."

GSP couldn't find a better training partner to prepare for southpaw Nick Diaz: southpaw Lucian Bute, considered one of the most technical and refined super middleweight (168er) boxer on the planet.

"Lucian is more accurate, faster and more powerful than Diaz. If Georges can train at this rate, he will be more than ready for the fight," says Zahabi with confidence.

Yesterday, in Centre Claude-Robillard (Montreal Olympic training center), both men have sparred three three minutes rounds followed by two rounds of shadow boxing and one round of mitts. The Romanian-born Bute did not leave an inch to St-Pierre. Georges had to keep his distance to prevent getting trapped in the corner. He had to launch combinations and dodge Bute's blows. But when the time came for mitt work, Bute's punches rang much louder in the gym than the UFC Welterweight Champion's punches.

"Coming here is hard for the ego. I feel inferior to Lucian, he doesn't even break a sweat" said St-Pierre, covered in sweat and catching his breath. "For me it is an honor to work with him. "

The former IBF World Champion tried to comfort him. "A lot of boxers I spar with have inferior boxing than you. And I'm not saying this to flatter you" said Bute. Larouche went further: "Georges greatest strength is his jab. It's a beautiful jab, better than many boxers."

St-Pierre, as all UFC fighters, must be proficient in a variety of sports. He trains in boxing, jiu-jitsu, athletics, gymnastics, muay thai, and more. In all these fields, he enlisted the services of the best. He brought Brazilian grapplers, French kickboxers and Muay Thai fighters.

"George always claims he's the worst of the gang, but he is often among the best, even when he's not accustomed to the discipline", says Stephan Larouche. He is very modest and that is probably why he is so good. He did not cut corners, he always takes a little more time, he is careful and he wants to understand everything."

The training lasted about two hours. Later in the day, St-Pierre will make a session of athletics. Yesterday was his last hard boxing training for his fight on March 16.

Unless something unexpected happens, Lucian Bute will be at the Bell Centre to see watch his training partner face Nick Diaz. When St-Pierre left the gym, Bute summed up what he thought of the athlete: "Georges is a guy who's always on time and listens to what Stéphane says. He did not come here with a swollen head and he walks around with modesty. He is a real good guy, a true champion. "

Bute's average defense will be his downfall. He'll look to set up his big left hand, but I don't think that he is good enough to control the distance, to keep Pascal at a safe distance. Pascal may not be fundamentally sound, but you either have to be a tough SOB or have a nice defense to beat Pascal, Bute doesn't have those qualities.

If Pascal loses to the exposed glassjaw, he should hang em up in my opinion.

Pascal obviously a much better fighter than Bute ever was, and would've absolutely smashed him back in the day... shame Bute ducked him like he ducked the super six tournament though.

Pascal probably licking his chops, he should blitz the glass jawed romanian.

I think you have an obsession with Bute and Romanians for some reason.
Did some Romanian hurt your feeling and broke you mentally ?
