this is bull****. If anything Floyd would feel this toward Broner especially since Broner is now fighting at 147. Floyd is just sensitive to anybody rooting against him

If SOG had pulled for the brother... Floyd wouldn't have said this... But he's not supporting his own. Floyd is always rooting for the brothers... he openly said the reason why he wanted Mosely to whup Margaritos cheating ass

I honestly can't see Ward ever being a worldwide name. In my opinion he is p4p number 1, no question. He is the best pro in all of boxing at the moment. He just doesn't have the knockout power or the personality to be well known. Broner is good but he's still unproven and looks to have plenty of flaws, the difference is he can knock people out and talk ****. That's what people want to watch.
Also what the **** is with people here acting like Ward has betrayed Floyd by saying who he supports in the fight? Talking about skin colour and **** as if it has any relevance.

..because the division he's torn through isn't loaded with his countrymen who the casual fan know. he's still the man to beat P4P

While Wards a good fighter I wouldn't go as far and say he's p4p #1 he needs to make some more noise if anybody deserve to be there instead of Mayweather it's Donaire. he's dominated multiple division and is scheduled to fight one of if not the best fighter behind him in his division. Frankly Ward hasn't passed Mayweather yet for me, It's cool Ward is running things in his first division but Mayweather it so good people want him to move to his sixth division because theres no one at his current weight people think can beat him.

Mayweather's great at stirring up a bit of controversy. Some of his points hit closer to home than others. His criticism of people saying God chooses sides is fair enough. It reminds me of a line from a poem called Foxhole Manifesto "And then there were the football players/ kneeling down in front of everybody/ thanking god like he was their best friend/ but then they'd jump up and spike the ball and yell I'm number one/ and I'd be confused, because if you're number one, then/what number is god?"

The bit about never leaving Oakland is surely bait. Last time Mayweather fought outside of Las Vegas was 8 years ago. Ward fought outside of Oakland a little more than a year ago and at least he's fought outside of the US twice.

Still it's all fun and games and gets a bit of interest up. It's promotion, for both fighters. Ward gets some publicity and still looks classy. Win/win for both guys really.

Actually....James Prince is the "real G". Floyd knows that and is falling back in line knowing his comments might have some fallout he's not too keen on. There's a history between Floyd and Prince and Floyd knows the deal. He'll let Ellerbe respond so he can fall back to avoid any unnecessary problems..
