'0's don't mean anything in boxing, just like titles

who they fought and when is all that matters

Always love boxing "fans" looking at people windmilling tons of punches and thinking thats "effective aggression" then you look at the replay in slowmo and just nothing is landing.

Scoring ineffective aggression goes directly against what scoring boxing should be.
You are not taking into considering the effective aggression of the other guy, but whats far WORSE is you are not scoring the ring generalship and defense that the other guy is portraying for making the flailing windmill useless.

You are basically throwing out the window 3 of the 4 important criteria for scoring boxing.

I scored it 115-112 for Joe Calzaghe.

Joe had some problems early, but adjusted and swept the later rounds as Bernard became tired.

How anyone can score this fight for Hopkins is beyond me... They both looked like ****, but at least Joe put in some work... Hopkins did nothing for 9 rounds!

I thought he broke John Ruiz's record for most clinches in a fight. Anybody who thinks Hopkins won is bias....

The people who score it for Hopkins are black people who are upset that Hopkins looked foolish for pulling the race card, then losing. There is no way on this damn planet that he won 6 rounds or more. To me, the fight is a pretty clear 7-5 victory for Joe making it 114-113 and there was a later round, maybe round 8 I can't remember that was really close that Hopkins got, which could make it 115-112 for Joe.

yeah, i mean calzaghe blew him out. not even close. :) i had the fight wider for joe than you did but in a **** fight like this, it's hard to defend what either guy did.

This fight was far more conclusive than MAB v Naz and Ward v Froch so I've no idea why this question crops up now and again. Hopkins was beaten very easily once Joe got into his stride by Round 4

Watched it 3 times and never again. First had b-hop 7-5. Second 2 had Calz 7-5.
kd made it very close but calz deserved it all things considered.

    This^^^^^^

Joe looked like **** at light heavy, but Bernard did **** all for most of the fight, I ain't a big Joe fan by any stretch but clearly did more over the 12 rounds, Americans are truly ******ed to think otherwise...

Yes Hopkins for me did the cleaner work but for the majority of the fight did very little other than spoil or look for a way out.

That is not enough to take the title, and the poll shows it.:bart
