Holy crap. Pac hasn't fought a relevant Welter Since Clottey

Don't deal with him. He's a hardcore fanboy. Ortiz vs Berto doesn't count as a relevant fight at a catchweight but I bet he rates PAC vs Cotto highly :deal

so you you admit that pac makes his fights easier by asking for catchweights? not very glorifying for such a "great" fighter is it

No I'm just using your standards against you. I mean, I've never heard anyone **** on Ortiz for beating Berto at a CW (me excluded). Meanwhile we got 1000s of threads shitting on Pac Cotto. The funny thing is, Pac had beaten ATGs and won belts over 6 divisions before his 1st CW request. Ortiz still has not beaten a decent fighter outside of that one catchweight fight! The hypocrisy is shocking.

Margarito wasn't really so relevant but still dangerous. Bradley had proven he was just as physically competent at 147 as he was at 140 and IMO it's one of Manny's best wins.

He imposed CWs in 2 fights, same as JMM. Lots of fighters asked for CWs, many worse than Pac's. I remind you, 6 divisional belts without CWs, never done before.

Also, he's not doing it gratuitously. It really was not clear he was cut out for welter before Cotto. Since then, he hasn't asked welters to go down a few. It wasn't clear he was cut out for super welter before Marg, and sure enough he wasn't. It wasn't targeted CW like Cotto vs Marg 2, or PWill vs SM 2.

You're the resident CW crier here. the only time you shut up about it is when I bring up Ortiz, or DLH, or JMM, or...

Unfortunately for you this isn't a thread about Floyd.

Nice try with the deflection though.

Who would've guessed when it happened what his resume since then would be.

I've been saying during the whole span what horrible opponents he has selected. JMM is acceptable because of their personal rivalry, but considering their weights and age the third fight really was unneeded. Bradley is his best on paper match up and he had a whopping one fight experience at WW, conceding height to Pac as well.

Major disappointment his career has been post '09 Cotto. Clottey's a good win and all, but given the circumstances of it being one of the worst 120-108 fights of all time and Clottey not having a trainer and having clearly not tried to win a round, it loses luster. Not saying it was fixed, but Clottey didn't try at all and if I had to guess a major fight of the last 5 years that was, that would be my pick.

Bradley was a good choice at WW.

Can't have it both ways, you guys say that Pac looked great and was at his peak when he beat Oscar down at WW. But then turn around and say he didn't know if he could look good at WW. Pac at WW had nothing to do with Pac moving up to WW but everything to do with taking something away from Cotto at WW.

 Don't try and reason with these guys they LOVE having their cake and eating it too.

Pac has been a welterweight ever since his 135 lb days. He gained so much weight back after weigh-ins it was crazy.
