Holy crap. Pac hasn't fought a relevant Welter Since Clottey

Exactly and thats all due to the type of opponents they would be facing. Asking Cotto to cut the extra pds had everything to do with trying to take a little power away from Cotto and nothing to do with Pac being blown up or losing a step if he had to fight at WW.

pac was just cutting tons of weight. when they fought pac had a 1 lb advantage. you seem unaware pac was a huge weight cheat at the lower weights

    good post.

can i get ur input on this in terms of pac fighting relevant welterweights during his "reign"
    -

Cotto - good fight, cotto was #2 or #3 att he time
clottey - good fight, #4 rated
margarito- **** fight for a paper title, not ranked
    Marquez - again, unranked
Mosley - dodged him in 2009, fights in 2011 :patsch
Bradley - unranked. done nothing since
    Marquez- unranked

it's literally been since 2010 where he fought someone rated in his class :nut

Sure whatever. Who else has been able to cut weight to 7 divisional belts? Cotto has to cut 1lb, and he's useless

 Funny analogy. And true. Pac was whored out terribly by Arum. Tarnished the end of his career pretty good. :-(

Sure, it was probably more mental than anything. Remember it was pretty much unthinkable him beating Cotto, just 1 year earlier. I'm sure they weren't so confident in his chin vs a hard hitting welter, he'd barely taken any punches above 130!

Marquez and Bradley were fights that needed to happen IMO. Mayweather should have been fought instead of Clottey, and he should have fought a young up and coming guys instead of Mosley and Margarito even if it was at the WW or Jr WW limit.

Can't knock him to much though because still not to many fighters can replicate what he accomplished.

What was Diaz ranked at? Hatton was on the p4p list when Mayweather fought him, I don't think he was ranked when Pac fought him.

Right, he had wins over 3 ATGs while heavily drained, according to you. That's even harder than fighting them in tip top shape

Cotto cuts from 160+ so that extra 2 pds is not useless. That extra 2pds puts more focus on trying to lose weight then actually training for the fight which is what Roach wanted to try to disrupt training a little which is why he gets so defensive if Pac is asked to do anything that might go away from his training. As he knows thats what he did to other fighters.

weight cutting isnt the same for everyone, and those fighters werent making pac do it- while pac was trying to gain advantages by taking power and size away

mosley fight me at 142  :patsch
