Holy crap. Pac hasn't fought a relevant Welter Since Clottey

Pac didn't force Cotto to do anything. Cotto agreed to make the sacrifice. But the point is the principal behind asking Cotto to cut the 2pds wasn't because they felt Pac would be blown up at WW or because Pac would lose a step at WW at 147 so they had to make the fight at 145. Because Pac could have weight 145 anyway and let Cotto weigh in at 147 if 147 was to much weight for Pac. But because they wanted to take some power away from Cotto and interupt training. Now if that actually worked or not I don't know. But the disscussion was about team Pac and his team "not knowing they could be effective at WW or not".

Cotto on 2 different instances stated 2 different viewpoints. That cutting the weight wasn't a problem during training, but later when he was fighting Mayweather he stated that cutting the weight was a problem which is why he wouldn't fight Pac at 150 as he didn't want Pac to drain him again. Only he knows which one is accurate. But the again the principal behind Roach asking for the 145 catch weight wasn't for Pac but for Cotto.

As many have said, there's nothing substantial to suggest Cotto's training was interrupted. I mean, you think he had to change his entire training regime to lose ONE more pound then from he previous fight? That's a little far fetched, and a stretch.

I am aware of what Cotto said. Personally, I put little into things said years after the fact. I use my eyes, and Cotto did not look any different physically against Pac then he did against anyone else. Just my opinion.

I thought it was. Of course, I'd have to look it up. Was a 12 rounder though.

Cotto could've made the weight with no issues. He is not that big of a guy. However, he was being trained under his uncle who he does not get along and Cotto hates to run which is why he gasses out all the time. If a fighter doesn't like to run then it makes it very hard to drop weight. More than likely Cotto was starving himself. With Diaz, Cotto admitted that Diaz got under his skin pressuring him to run everyday but he put his trust in Diaz and you can tell the difference when he fought Margo and Floyd.

To me, all that whinning Cotto did with the Pac fight was pointless bc he was the one cutting corners/bad camp.

Clottey wasn't a relevant 147lb'er when Pac fought him.

Oh yeah? Did Rios beat Abril also? Funny how Rios fans never boast about that one.

Yeah, he was Ring top 5, he just made Zab quit mid fight, gave up his belt to fight Cotto and gave him a very tough fight. Many including Floyd had him winning that one.

Deflection? The guy is using a universally acknowledged robbery to try to score points. That's weak, you never hear anyone doing that for Rios Abril, or Cloud Campillo, or PWill Lara, or Cintron Martinez, Chisora Helenius, or even lesser robberies.
