Tony Bellew vs Isaac Chilemba is a 50/50 Fight

Bellew will use his height/reach advantage and stick behind his jab, he doesn't have very fast hands but he does have good timing when he uses his boxing skills and can catch Chilmba with counters as he comes in, it will be a tough fight but Bellew defo starts as a slight favourite.

 

I wouldnt call it a 50/50, its more of a 60-40 fight imo & I think Tony can win this by stoppage & look good doing so

Chilemba is decent, he's organised but he isnt exceptional. Other than hand speed I dont think he holds any real advantages over Bellew.

 

Don't think so unfortunately. I chose not to go to Thompson vs Price in order to save for this. However, now I've been asked to go to a mate's party on the same night and I couldn;t really say no I'll be going there. Hopefully I can sneak away an watch it on TV at some point though.

If Tony gets Dawson at Goodison Park in the summer then **** me, I'll defo be there, **** in hand. :yep

I think from the first Mckenzie maybe even the Asjafe fight where Bellew got a major scare Bellew now fight slighly scared as a results bar the Clev fight his fights have become pretty boring so i am not convinced how much he actually has the more he steps up

 

He isn't boring, did you see the McIntosh fight? He ****ing wiped his arse with him. I agree that he's become a different style a fighter though. The Miranda fight he was too cautious but I think that can be forgiven because Miranda had a crazy KO record and could still punch. The Bolonti fight he got the worst cut I've ever seen in the 2nd round and his whole game plan went out the window, he just had to make it to the end and nick it on points.

Hopefully this is the fight it all comes together for Tony and really announces himself. Won't be easy though, Chilemba is no slouch.

People give Tony far too much **** for being cautious, if he had continued to fight in the style he used in his early career he would have been ko'd by now.

 

yeh he got so much stick for being wreckless and over eager and as soon as he sits down and starts using his skills he gets ripped.

 

Exactly! this is the guys livelihood, I for one appreciate it when he uses his boxing skills.

totally agree about the cut and about Miranda but thats my point he was happy to bounce Mcintosh about the but he knew he didnt really represent much danger even though he is a former EBU champ see he was happy to smash him which made the fight exciting although 1 sided where as the Miranad and Bolonti fights where 1 sided and you felt nothing was going to happen it probable a testiment to his boxing abilty where he can change styles but it did make for boring fights and i think Chilmemba could be the same

Chilemba got careless against Vlasov in the 8th. Whilst he rode it out and was tough, he was wide open late on. Chilemba will apply pressure and Bellew will pick him off and then finish him late on.

 

Chilemba looked good in that footage. Looks to me as if he'll win the vast majority of the rounds because he pulls the trigger more than Bellew and seems less stiff and more versatile.

 

Its a good test for Tony of that there is no doubt, however, Chilemba is very lazy with the return of his jabbing hand and it often travels back to his chest, he is so open to a right hand that I feel Bellew will have a lot of success.

These could take a toll if he is eating half a dozen good shots a round.

Bellew has surprised me with his ability to stick to a gameplan recently and his team will be aware of Chilemba's failing and will no doubt feel they hit a lot harder than Vlsaov who is an average punching super-middle, who had Chilemba in all sorts of trouble during the 8th round of there fight.

He is brave and skilful I do not dispute that but feel that Bellew has a chance here to make a real statement, the yanks like Isaac and his team are very confident, a convincing win could open a lot of doors for Bellew here.
