Hopkins gets out of his time machine and has some good rounds against Marciano before being ground down and stopped. Sixty years later, old white dudes on the Classic forum of ESB claim that Hopkins was a legit heavy who would stop Wlad.

I think rocky takes it on points.

I'd be very surprised if he stopped b-hop.

When I post Benny Leonard versus Ike Williams I get three responses mostly of the "I have no idea" sort.

Give the people what they want.

If you want a better discussion on a difficult subject, you need to make a lot more effort than you did. If you start at thread that says "x v y BUT ONLY ANSWER IF YOU GIVE DETAILED STYLISTIC BREAKDOWNS IF NOT **** OFF" people are going to be badly put off, and you are going to attract a certain kind of poster.

On the other hand, if you yourself take the time to outline some of the stylistic details involved, provide links to footage that may provide clues, maybe even copy and paste the Cyber Boxing Zone thumbnails into your OP, give people a real idea of who you are asking them about, you will get more responses.

Sorry to assume people have actually seen Williams and Leonard footage and read about the two, and have some sort of idea in their mind how both performed. I got mostly the sort of ham-fisted, lazy responses I expected.

However, is Hopkins slick, cagey and dirty enough to pull off a 12 rounder against Marciano and shoplift a victory? That's another question entirely. I want no stylistic breakdowns just bold shoot from the hip opinions.

No you shouldn't be sorry about that, you are pretty much correct in that assumption for most (but not all) of the people that would make posts in that thread. But how does that impact anything that i've said? You've written some sarcastic, line about "giving the people what they want" i the op for this thread. Well what people want is to feel inspired and involved, not put upon:

    That's a ****ing horrible OP.

If it's a fight that's a little more offbeat (As you all but admit in that post) you need to do one of two things to get what you want. Straight up ask, and get something organic going out of people bouncing ideas of each other in a free-thinking spazout thread, or do all the things I suggested to you earlier, post helpful footage, post your own opinions and thoughts on the matter, court opinion with snippets of information that help to fire neurons and get people involved.

You got exactly the responses I expected and you deserved with an unappealing elitist and uninspiring OP. It's fine to put no thought into what you are saying or want to achieve on the forum with a given thread but it's kind of grim to whine and ***** about it when exactly what every other veteran of your years knows is going to happen with that thread happens, and through nobodies fault other than your own.

If this is all just a part of your "love me, love me i'm grumpy" shtick then please ignore, but if you are genuinely unhappy about the pathetic failure of your earlier thread, please PM me for my user friendly guide: Engaging The Forum - How Not To Come of Like a Total ***** In Your OP.
