Is Gary Cornish the next Scott Belshaw/Tom Dallas?

All were Frank Maloney HW prospects who he hyped up

Belshaw got found out quickly by Daniel Peret then the wheels fell off quickly thereafter

Dallas was looking good against bums until he faced Zack Page and got a dubious decision. Then Price burst his bubble.

Cornish got dropped last night and in an earlier bout he won a maul against a Eurobum who was stopped by Danny Price in a round in his next fight. Doubt if he can step up - a Celtic title against Dorian Darch maybe his limit. I would not put him in with Rogan, or have a Scottish title fight against Simmonds as he would get beat.

 

I think your right but he never had much amateur experience so its hard to tell. Doesn't seem like he's improved much since I saw him 20 months ago though.

 

He isn't very good and is below domestic level, I think he might get a british title fight against McDermott if Maloney gets his way though.

 

Stephen Simmons is a cruiserweight, can't really see him moving up.

Didn't Maloney say Belshaw was gonna be richest athlete in the history of sport?

 

He also said that Big Bad John had the best jab in the sport.

 

Speaking of Tom Dallas, he's just signed a 3 fight deal with Goodwin Promotions.

Reckon they will give him 2 cans and then put him in with Lewison who will spark him out.

 

Dallas just knocked people over and when he stepped up he couldnt handle it. At least cornish has some points wins. Shows he can at least box a bit. I know its against poor opponents but lets just wait and see how he looks over his next few fights.

Mcdermott is always a good test for anyone. Lets see if big bad john can serve him up something.

Seen Cornish box live once, he will do okay for himself at British level.

I don't think his decline/showing up will be as dramatic though as Dallas though.

Dallas was being kept apart from Price until one of them had a world title, until he was stood on his head by Zack Page, not long after he was chucked in and the inevitable execution happened.

Not long after he was ****ing hammered by Skelton, then stopped again in Prizefighter, it's over for the lad.

Cornish won't be in with an operator as clever as Zack Page before he gets stopped. He'd lose to someone no better than Daniel Peret was a few years ago.

 

Feel a bit sorry for Dallas.Been getting criticism over the last year or so.He stepped up at short notice against Price,who everybody knew was far better,and hyped as a worldbeater also at that time.Also lost to Skelton,a very good fighter in his day and still a real handful.Hes probably just not at that level,and if he stays at his own and isn't overmatched maybe he can still do well.Boxing may or may not be his main income.Either way,it won't be easy.Reckon we should give him a break.
