Its interesting that so many felt Hopkins was shot when he went up to LHW, yet predict him to have beaten a prime undefeated 2 weight champ who was WBO WBA IBF LHW champ and who was being disputed as the best LHW (Jones or Michalczewski). Do you think the division was very weak then, now or that Hopkins is that good?
No, to the best of my knowlegde. In his defense Jones did try to make that happen. He wanted Darius to share a double header with him, but Darius refused claiming he is not a under card fighter.
atsch So he was past his prime when he lost a close debateable decision to Gonzalez, but wasnt past his prime in his very fight before when taking some shots off of Harmon . Only you could come out with this Zod, fantastic bias sentence
Maybe because Dariusz beat the man. Maybe because the fight would have drawn a bibber crowd in Germany Maybe because it would have been huge PPV in Germany the fight would have still been PPV TV wherever it was held, but normally the champ gets home ground especially when he pulls the bigger crowd
It was not a debatable loss. Gonzalez deserved to win by around 2 points. He basically used the same strategy Harmon used. The difference between him and Harmon was that Harmon quit when he started to get tired but Gonzalez dug deep for the last 2 rounds. What on earth are you talking about?atsch D.M was adept at blocking hooks but open to crosses and uppercuts, like Cotto who also uses that arm by the side of his head defense. You notice the signs in a fight when a fighter becomes past prime. I noticed those signs in the Gonzalez fight. Graciano also had a high connect percentage against him during their first fight. He had a lot of success with counters as well
atsch So he was past his prime when he lost a close debateable decision to Gonzalez, but wasnt past his prime in his very fight before when taking some shots off of Harmon . Explain yourself Zod and stop trying to waffle out. You noticed he was past his best in one fight yet taking flush shots in his fight before where you now say he used to block shots and you say he wasnt past his prime then. Only you Zod :verysadatsch
Dariuz is somewhat one dimensional, and not particularly fast handed.. Hopkins usually does well with these types of fighters. I wouldn't see it as a Pavlik or Tarver type beat down. I think Hopkins would pull off a close dec, probably eat some hard shots along the way.
Point 1: He lost that fight fair and square Point 2: You don't know what prime means. You are the same character who claimed that Jones was still in his prime because he was ahead on a scorecard against Lebedevatsch Point 3: Graciano hit him with a lot of flush shots. Was he past prime during that fight then magically prime again afterwards? atsch
