Jesse Magdaleno vs. Carlos Fulgencio, 8 rounds @ welterweight

 

Ya I'll be watching both tonight. The main even and co-main event on the UFC card are good scraps. Relatively speaking I'm not that interested in either of the fights on the HBO card. I'll checkout the bradley fight because I always like watching bradley's skills on display but I don't expect the fight to be close.

Round 1

Magdaleno in control with the jab, circling quickly as Fulgencio spins too slowly to swat him. Quick double-bass-drum body shots by Magdaleno. Double right hook to the flank, and Fulgencio is down. He takes half the count before making himself get up. Fulgencio leans down, writhing and grinding in. Magdaleno gets tied up and hits while holding.

Round 2

Magdaleno is still bossing it, landing quick shots from outside, favoring the southpaw 1-2 and doubling it up. He drops a left cross over Fulgencio's neck while he's trying to duck and grab and Fulgencio's gloves brush the canvas. Tony Krebs rules it a KD. Magdaleno chases him with the right jab and explodes with fast straight flurries to the guard as Fulgencio circles into the ropes and lays on them, trying to counter with uppercuts between clinch attempts. BIG uppercut to the bottom of the jaw by Magdaleno, hurting Fulgencio but not enough to send him off his feet. Fulgencio has given up return fire and is just evading and smothering where he can, fully negative. Magdaleno keeps hitting while held, mostly quick slapping body shots. Magdaleno embeds a hard right hook into Fulgencio's cheek and hurts him but gets stifled with his follow-up left to the body as Fulgencio hangs himself out to dry over him and clasps on.

Round 3

Fulgencio stands upright and puts out a shell. Magdaleno tosses a right hook under it and then launches a left uppercut to split it. Big right uppercut by Magdaleno drops Fulgencio, waved off while on his hands and knees, and it's over.
