It's called a grito. Mexican battle cry.

It may seem odd transcending cultures, but the more high-pitched and ululating the more chingon and macho it's considered to be.

Sadly he's the exception, rather than the rule.

Then again, the way Boxing is today, if he fights 15 D class fighters in a row, he'll find himself in the frame for some sort of silver belt or another.

I'm half Scottish, so it's basically the same as me coming to the ring in a Kilt and flashing my backside at the enemy.

Yeah and Bernard Hopkins lost his first fight, Carlos Monzon lost 3 fights early in his career, it can just take longer for others to look impressive and gain experience than others.

Obviously i'm not comparing Sanchez to them definitely not at this stage anyway.

    Round 1

Saenz jabs into the belly of the long thin gangly Valenzuela. A few jabs unrolled by Valenzuela on the back foot, trying to create distance to set up his wide discus power shots. Big hook by Saenz doubled into the chest and chin of Valenzuela, rocking him off balance. Valenzuela jabs down into Saenz's guard and whips in some long rights. Saenz pops a double jab to the belly charging in, then gets his guard up quickly to catch Valenzuela's counters. Towel-snap right by Valenzuela, countered by a hard short right hand by Saenz. Valenzuela tries to drape himself over Saenz and gets slipped and falls to the canvas. Not ruled a knockdown, although it kinda was. Valenzuela is hit again with a right and once more tries grabbing Saenz on the way down. Again no knockdown ruled. Hook by Saenz buckles his legs.

    10-9 Saenz

    That could've/should've been maybe a 10-7 round.

    Round 2

Valenzuela is jabbing and hopping from side to side, dropping in rights over the top. Counter left hook by Saenz. Valenzuela falls into him and Saenz pushes him off. Tony Krebs doesn't rule it a knockdown, probably because of Saenz pushing off. Valenzuela is up and fighting his way off the ropes, down again. Finally a KD is ruled. He beats Krebs' count. BIG RIGHT HAND BY SAENZ OVER A LAZY VALENZUELA LEFT JAB. TIMBER! Valenzuela down and out before he even touches the Tecate logo.

    KO2!

    FANTASTIC KO.

He threw one with bad intentions a second before, and then threw the second with a slightly adjusted trajectory.

    Brilliant punch.
