How many p4p top 5 opponents has Mayweather beaten?

Maybe I'm misrecollecting then, but his two fights before Hopkins he almost lost to Sturm and actually lost to Mosley (although most people, including myself, thought he won a close one), plus he was a fight off of moving up in weight as well. I would have been hard pressed to rank him anywhere near my top 5 P4P, but perhaps the experts then actually did. I don't recall that they did, but you're backing up your statement with facts I think, and I'm just trying to remember what happened nearly 10 years ago.

Also, I didn't say Oscar wasn't even close, I said he was fringe top 10. For a second, I did get confused, and when you said Felix, I was thinking Sturm vs DLH and not Hopkins vs Tito (who I've just NEVER thought of as a Felix - he's always gone by Tito). But yeah, that's my fault.

Having just lost to Baldomir, Id hazard a guess the answer would be no.

 

Surprised Hatton was only ranked #8, Tszyu and Castillo were both P4P top 10 and he held fairly convincing wins over them. Granted he struggled to some extent with Urango and Collazo but they were also titleholders in their own right, id have though he wouldve been floating around #6-#4 type area.

 

I don't think castillo was ranked when hatton beat him. Not p4p or top ranked at 140.

Anyone who thought that Shane Mosley was genuinely the 3rd best boxer in the world in 2010 must just think this era has been utter ****. It's the kind of thing lora would say.

 

Yes the era was weak but ummm no as well. Shane had only lost once in 5 years that being a razor thin loss to Cotto. Pacquiao refused to fight him after he destroyed Margarito.

Lets not rewrite history to disparage Mayweather now. :nono nobody expected Mayweather to walk Shane down like that.

 

Saying shanes position as the third best fighter in boxing, at the time, is ludicrous is not rewriting anything. You really just don't know any better.
