WTF. Is Diaz implying St. Pierre spy gated him or something? And was that the longest ****ing post fight interview?
I really wanted to see Diaz against Koscheck, as much as that fight would make absolutely no sense at all right at this moment...but would be entertaining as hell.
For as well as GSP did, he really didn't do a whole lot of damage. He really just controlled Nick to a victory. He did as little as he possibly needed to guarantee victory. He is one of the greatest of all time, but he definitely is a safety first fighter, and that just isn't very exciting. It's smart, and he has the right to fight that way, but everyone knows that it isn't exciting.
I hate exciting fighters, too. Do you cheer for guys that tend to be most exciting in the ring, or the guys you think you would get along with the most based on what they say into a microphone?
I don't give a **** about whose exciting or not. This is professional competition. He just got a title shot without a winning streak. A fighter you obviously like, I don't care. He lost. He likes to contemplate retirement. So go away.
His cardio definitely wasn't there for 5 rounds tonight, but really? Heavy hands, strong wrestling, similar strength match up. I think it would be an interesting fight.
Exactly. Here's hoping he tests himself and goes up to face Silva. **** a Hendricks fight. Let's prove something by going out of your comfortable weight and show us if he's really the GOAT.
You care about what is exciting. Why pretend like you don't? GSP is the superior competitor, and this is a proven fact. That doesn't mean that Diaz isn't exciting as **** 99% of the time. Why would you want guy that damn near guarantees fireworks to go away?
He has good wrestling, but it wouldn't stand up to GSP's. GSP has the best MMA wrestling in the sport. Plus, he is just too intelligent to play Hendricks' game. It's no different than the Kos fight, except GSP probably has an even bigger wrestling/grappling advantage. He has more than earned his shot, though. Another nice notch in GSP's belt, I suppose.
Because he's one man. One fighter. In one division. If he didn't exist it doesn't take away from any other exciting fighter out there. Anyway. It is now my birthday. Wish me the best.
Happy birthday! Use it to contemplate your position on Nick Diaz' place in MMA! Or don't. There are probably better/more exciting things to think about.
