Huh, interesting. You're the only other person I've seen that had it as well. I agree with that. I rarely give out 10-10 rounds, but that round, I thought, was pretty much the definition of a 10-10 round. Bradley clearly outboxed Provodnikov for 2:00 minutes. Provodnikov then hurt him badly landed a few clean, hard shots (which pretty much evened the round) and then they both traded shots for about 15 seconds.

Well that WAS supposed to happen first time around, look what happened. Joel Diaz had the right gameplan and Timmeh too damn stubborn to follow it. Both fights delivered tho thanks to both Vargas and Bradley success of repeatedly eating right hands and getting lured into slugfests.

great points, it's due to the over-analyzing nature of every little thing in the world. in theory, you need to see seperation to give a fighter a round. but in recent years HBO has encouraged having to choose one fighter over the other, and what happens is one person gets the nod in a round that was really too close to call, then the next round the other guy gets seperation and wins the round clearly and yet the scoring is even when that guy should really be up a point. (if the previos round was scored even instead of just picking one guy)

theoretically you could have eleven "10-10" rounds and one "10-9" and that guy could win the fight. it all depends on what your criteria is. in this fight, in many of the rounds, both guys were very active and were landing, so really that is when 10-10's should be encouraged. in other fights when neither guy is doing much of anything (compared to this fight) like Hopkins Cloud for example, maybe those should be 9-9.

when both guys are landing at such a high rate, i think people are more willing to call rounds 10-10, then if neither guy is doing anything. because it's exciting. and as you correctly stated, more often then not, scoring rounds for one guy when the round was really even might result in a draw instead of a winner. the rounds where Bradley was rocked were very difficult to score, because some people score rounds based on who caused the most damage as opposed to who landed the cleaner punches, or who landed more punches.

This. Draw rounds should definitely be more encouraged, but can cause a whole different set of issues. Round 6 was a perfect example of a possible draw round.

    114-112 Bradley

Provodnikov robbed of a KD in round 1.

I was shocked by how many times Bradley got shaken. Great fight.

SRL DURAN Montreal saw one judge with about 8 rounds drawn.

I had two of last night's round even. I scored the fight 115-113 to Prov.

If I give Tim both of my 10-10 rounds, it was a draw.

If I give Tim both the 10-10 rounds AND score the first 10- 9 instead of 10-8, then Tim takes it by one point.

For these reasons, I would not term it a robbery. A gift, though. :yep

In the sport in general, You could make a reasonable case for a lot more even rounds.

E.g. You could have a system whereby only rounds that had all three judges in agreement would count. Others would be considered even.

This would be strengthened by adding a fourth judge and, again, only counting rounds scored unanimously.

Hope he goes back to 140 (unless, understandably, he gets a payday against Manny or Floyd)

Can't say enough about this fight. Classic performance by Tim Bradley I had no reason to like him before but he is the man. Provodnikov style was emphasized GREATLY by Bradleys willingness to trade power shots with a much heavier hitter. Bradley could have boxed his head off all night but decided to do it the hardest way making way for serious fight of the year candidate.

Provodnikov has every right to feel robbed by IMO disregarding the first round stuff up Bradley was returning enough damage to stop the 10-8 scores. The UD was a shock however

Even though both were sharp and determined, the trainers were put in terrible situation of caring about the welfare of their fighters in a Thrilla in Manilla type situation. you have to wonder what permanent wear and tear both fighters will have after a war like that.

I don't see how people say Prov won the 6th round. Bradley was outlanding him easily until like the last 30 seconds, and even then, Bradley was throwing back once he was hurt.

    i agree with this too.

People cry robbery so often, when in reality its just a bad scoring system.

One fighter could dominate 6 rounds. An the other 6 rounds could be close rounds, then you get a draw.

    Its a really bad system.

The recent example is Pac Bradley. Pac dominates 5 rounds, Bradley 1, 7 rounds close.

People complain robbery when in reality, you could echnically score in 5-5 bradley.

    This, Rotten ****ing crowd.

I admit you see a different fight on the cameras sometimes. Where Ruslan had him on the ropes beating into him, timothy basically always had an answer despite getting knocked around a bit.
