Anyone else think GSP wants nothing to do with Hendricks?

He gets hurt and shook up quite often considering he is an elite level fighter, what attribute of his would you say was weaker than his chin as an elite level fighter?
Also who has hit him that has the power of hendricks, he did like being hit by Diaz(you could see he was worried about diaz's striking and he is a pretty average level striker in terms of power)

This fights a toss up. If Hendricks connects with the same shots He connected on Condit, GSP would be out, don't kid yourselves.

Its a question of would Hendricks catch GSP? I am not sure that GSP can take down Hendricks either with the way Johnny is built.

I can see GSP fighting smart and picking Hendricks off with jabs.

Personally I'd say it was his boxing but who am I say anything about one of the greatest fighters of all time.

He might be good? you may want to rephrase that, delete good and insert great! because St Pierre is at greatness, Hendricks is a rookie, St Pierre is a seasoned world champion with vast vast experience, he's a proven elite level fighter.

Hendricks is green! St Pierre can out-strike or out wrestle Hendricks, he can do what he likes to the guy because he's better than him in every department.

Im not denying that Hendricks isn't a very good wrestler, he is! or he has dangerous KO power well suited to taking GSP out, he has! but its hearsay, its empty words mate, St Pierre has been dealing with the Jonny Hendricks's of the world since time began.

His chin may be his weakest attribute, but that says more about how great the rest of his skill set is than how weak his chin is. If your worst attribute is a pretty good chin, then you are pretty rock solid all around.

    What?

He's never fought anyone who has a combination of such high level wrestling and ridiculous one punch KO power.

GSP is a great fighter and the best welterweight of all time but he hasn;t beaten anyone with the attributes of hendricks thats why its an interesting fight,

And let's not overlook the fact that GSP is a substantially better striker than Hendricks.

Mate you need to stop with this ****, all we have said is hendricks is a hard fight for gsp because of the style match up, we know gsp is the best and he has proven it, but still it makes no difference to my point of hendricks being one of his hardest fights due to styles.

Both he and Kos were 4 time all americans, and Kos won one title and finished second another time whereas Hendricks won two titles. Not that much difference there. Also, Kos did it at 174 and Hendricks was at 165, so if you're going to push amateur wrestling credentials for mma, that 9 pounds should count for something.

Anyway, I doubt GSP will try to take Hendricks down the way he did Diaz. Why would he? He's going to jab and kick and move the way he did against Kos and Shields. He won't back straight up and let Hendricks charge him over and over, and he'll probably win a wide UD on the feet. What he will do is keep Hendricks from taking him down. That said, if Hendricks charges in too recklessly, GSP may take him down, but as you say, may not be able to hold him down and own him the way GSP did Penn or Fitch or Diaz or Alves.

Is it just me or after every single fight do people come with the "GSP is afraid of Guy X!" and "Guy X will be the toughest guy he's ever faced!" and then three months later GSP wins a wide UD and then Guy Y steps in. GSP could get caught just like anyone else, but he probably won't and when the very likely event comes of him UDing Hendricks, think for a second before you say "Jake Ellenberger has GSP running scared! He's the toughest fight he's had yet!"

GSP can't Anderson Silva, but that's probably about it 185 and under.

Hendricks can turn the light out if he lands clean i'd put money on that. The guys hes KOed are legit. The fight will hang on Hendricks ability to nullify the wrestling. hendricks wins a stand up war easily he wont respect GSPs power and why the hell should he? Hendricks wrestling is good cause hes so strong while GSP has the superior technique. We'll see which is more effective :happy

about him backing up, hendricks is a lefty. this seemingly small change is huge to shitty boxers. also this means GSP will have to back to his left which means his back foot isnt planted as he backs up (wrestlers push off their rear usually dominant leg in MMA) GSP will circle to his left he has to, johnnys left hand is worthy of respect.

Hendricks could use his wrestling to keep it standing and maybe KO GSP, but GSP is a great game planner so him and tri star will have the right game plan. But Hendricks is scary, definently a threat

Amateur credentials don't determine the outcome of MMA fights. You see guys with inferior or no grappling credentials whatsoever tooling opponents who are more experienced a regular basis in MMA.

Koscheck has similar credentials to Hendricks, and GSP got the better of him. Hendricks went life and death with a declined version of Koscheck and lost that fight IMO.

Hendricks' TDD isn't infallible, but GSP has lost a bit of explosiveness post injury IMO.

    Hendricks by KO
