I havent read all of the thread but I saw another story elsewhere that said Maloney had told iFilm London in an interview after the McDermott fight that C5 were dropping out, dunno where he would have got his info from

Oh well Channel 5 is the worst channel on tele, always putting on **** cards anyway.

Don't feel for Fat Mick in the slightest if this is true, his cards are tragic and he's stalling the career of Kid Galahad, who should be moving along at he same speed as Quigg and Frampton.

If true then hennesey is ****ed! Cant imagine him doing a deal with boxnation. Knowing hennessey he will put all his shows on ppv internet or some shitty niche channel like loaded...be good if he did **** off to be honest because then we might see the big fights like kid galahad v frampton, fury v price, eubank v bjs, degale v groves 2.

I thought channel 5 got good audience figures for the fights they have shown. Pity they don't have foresight to introduce a boxing highlights/ discussion program. I think a half hour or hour programme would give a good platform and help build an audience base of casual viewers.

All signs point to there are issues with the deal but nothing has been confirmed by Five yet.

The Fury fight is on Five in April as was confirmed last week in New York.

    Return on Investment.

If Channel 5 pay Hennesey £50,000 for a boxing card and spend £100,000 producing and broadcasting it live, but it only brings in £120,000 in ad revenue its not worth there time. If they spend £2,500 on an episode of Murder She Wrote, and get £5,000 in ad revenue they are better off.

So what are the actual figures involved?

That's good to hear, Nice time as well as it will be on early enough to catch viewers. Shame if 5 do pull out after though..

I don't know what. Nobody does, those were examples to explain my point.

If Channel 5 were making money from boxing they would stick with it.

I've said this on twitter, I think it all hinges on Fury's fight with Cunningham. If Tyson wins and gets loads of media attention from it then it may convince Channel 5 to keep boxing on. They need to see that there's possible money in it. If he loses or the ratings aren't very good they'll likely drop out. Hennessy has likely told Tyson that so hopefully it urges him to be exciting and go for the stoppage. So much rests on his shoulders here.
